Managed just a mincash in the 1500 which was alright, I never really got going on day two. Good to hit the ground running and get an early flag
Didn't play for the rest of the day, we moved into our suite at Palms Place which I LOVE. Aside from 5 nights in the Wynn, I've always stayed at pretty budget places in Vegas so this is a very welcome change. We have a 31st floor strip view, two large flatscreen TVs, kitchen, huge bathroom etc - it's great. Also the 6th floor (!) pool area is really sick, it has nice restaurants (one by the pool has half price food 3-6pm) a gym and spa all included.
Might be a blessing and a curse because staying in bowl places always encourages grinding, whereas here I'm always actually looking forward to getting back to the apartment and won't mind busting comps early so I can spend the day by the pool! My motivation and grind ethic definitely needs to improve. I still feel like I'm on holiday a bit. It needs to stop!
After I post this I'm going to hit the gym and then play a 1k at noon, and hopefully keep that routine for as many days as possible for this trip. Before you scoff, I actually did this in Macau for 2 months, so I do have it in me! I found it really helped not just my phyiscal condition, but helped me mentally keep focus during sessions, able to play longer sessions and just generally be more zen at the tables. So that's the plan...
After I busted the comp on Sunday we ate Tapas at Julian Serrano in Aria which was amazing - I was just recovering from my tonsillitis/fever at that point so couldn't eat much unfortunately (my appetite still hasn't recovered now actually) but enjoyed the company of Fred, Nick, Jack and Stato and the night degenerated into playing craps to get some free cocktails, then we found out it was considerably cheaper to order them at a bar and not play craps
I'm not playing house games this trip barely at all, so trying to avoid nights like these where possible but it's what our group want to do so it's hard.
It turned into a great night out we met Sin, Laura (Cornelius) and my old friend Barny Boatman...For those that haven't seen the Sky UKPC, or the now viral video on youtube - Barny and I had a bit of a run-in as he knocked me out of that tournament - the "ghost" handshake incident...Here's how sunday nights showdown went down...
You'd think I could've seen that coming but I was so drunk that I literally had no idea and was completly shocked! What a hero!
Yesterday I chilled during the day, slept off the previous nights boozing had a lovely hour by the pool at around 4/5pm where the sun isn't too strong, and played the late flight of the 1k at the Venetian. Unfortunately had two bullets and bust around 1am which wasn't so fun but I'll give it another go today and hopefully do better!
I've a feeling this trip is gonna be the best Vegas trip yet.
