Stayed home all day to rail Simon almost all the way to glory. Two 20k+ scores in 2months is some feat. Pity he couldn't hold in those big pots where he was ahead, as it would've been the difference between 3rd and 2nd/1st which is a huge amount of money. But he knows he ran like god to win all the flips/ 70/30s he did on day two, so he's certainly happy with the score. Well played.

Feel a bit bad hearing that the cabbie who won was upset by some of the comments on the blog. It's sad to think what must've been an amazing day/weekend has been soured in anyway. I don't think I wrote anything personally, but I certainly agreed or at least felt inside the same as the people who were criticizing his play. I really didn't want either of the final 2 to win to be frank. Whenever I rail these tournaments I firstly want my friends to win, then failing that, the best players left in. There's enough injustice in this game as it is, it's always great to see skill prevail on an important stage. Just like with any sport or game, the best team / player deserves to win. It's surely normal to be frustrated seeing bad players being rewarded, especially when it's a close friend paying the price. Of course it's nothing personal against Alan, who sounds like a decent guy and it's a marvellous story.

Anyway, I played online allday bumhunting, 1table usually, made about $200 then once Deadman had busted Andy and I snapdrove to DTD and played cash. I finally got there with a big draw in a huge pot. Don't get many £400 pots on the DTD 0.50/1 but I managed to get there to scoop this one. Felt very very good Smiley Was losing before that but ended up up £180. So a great start to the month, carry on please!

i thought the thread was a bit unfair on him as well. even tighty and the bloggers were not impartial. not sure if they have to be really but when the guy says that he has been getting texts from his mates about his treatment on blonde its a bit sad. simon ben and nick were the favs to win the comp not only for their ability and  support but the way  the other two played seemed to play the game to frustrate nick and simon.  you cant always fight fire with fire and sometimes you need to wip out the hose and piss on their parade. i actually  think simon is becoming the complete player and it was actually commented on here and awops live feed that at times he had sat for a couple of levels very quiet hardly playing a hand. this new found ability to change gears has helped him run deep recently and i witnessed it at first hand when he won the dtd deepstack. the other thing that makes me think simon is awesome is the fact that shola plays the game so well too. its obvious they both are gonna be playing te game for a long time. wp to simon he deserved a win.

It's surely normal to be frustrated seeing bad players being rewarded, especially when it's a close friend paying the price.

It's not normal in any other line of work to call all less skilled / less experienced operators 'bad'. (Or terrible, or whatever other title is in vogue this week).
The group who do this, tend not to be very successful players. It's usually the type of players who rate themselves, but who haven't achieved the results to back it up, and are therefore a bit insecure..... putting people down, elevates their own status a little bit, see.
It's the same as berating other players at the table.

Rise above it mate. I know it's difficult sometimes, but is good for karma in the long run.

+1

its just a fucking game at the end of the day, its sick in football when a league 2 two scrap around for 90mins and manage to somehow bundle the ball over the line to book a 1-0 win at old trafford

also simon did not "pay the price" cos stuff like this is the only way he is able to make a living....
