Day Two (don't look above for spoilers)

Came back 14/83, lost a few small ones, folded Jacks to Pete the Bandit who 3b me pre and cbet Qhigh flop. Had no idea who he was but when the elderly generation do a backraise and then bet out on a Qhigh flop, I usually muck the Jack and Jack.

So I was down to average then won a key pot. Flushy opens the button, I 3b  from the small blind (as I had done the previous orbit with and folded to his shove, so it was nice to wake up) then the big blind instantly chucked a bunch of purple 5k chips in.

Flushy passes I jam and hold vs his Jacks to knock him out. Now we're chipped up again.

I get moved to a nice looking table. Except for one. Matt Perrins, on my left. This could get messy. We tangled a fair amount in some preflop raising wars (of which he got the better of me) but basically took it in turns to bash people up around the bubble. 2nd key pot I won was vs Greek jack, flopping a set of sevens and holding vs his flush draw.

Then I get moved again, even better this time. A chipped up Mitch has a vacant seat on his left. A not so chipped up, but still scares me, Toby Lewis had a vacant seat on his right. I'll just pop myself down there shall I?

First hand (sorry Mitch have to brag) Mitch opens the cutoff I 3b the button with two hearts with a "let's start as we mean to go on" speech. Folds round to him and he says "If you hadnt've given that speech I would've called" and folds. Obv my ego is too big to not sure the cheeky two hearts. Game on. Mitch has to get one over on me though, gets a cold 4b through someone and shows 56off.

Get moved back to my old seat on table perrins and continue to exploit the bubble. Get AA all in pre vs A8 he manages to chop it to stay alive. The bubble lasts for 2 hours fml. Hand for hand is so tilting.

3rd key pot comes when I flop my second set of the day, (i mean third  ) and get in a chunk vs tptk to knock out mateyboy who I'd 4bluffed beforehand and who was pretty steamed up about it.

I get moved to the feature table, and I'm one of the chip leaders. My first untimely bluff of the tournament obv happens on tv so I look like a massive spewtard. 4bet folded 100k off with the 94blue Sad It's button vs small blind, I open 21k at 5k/10k he 3bets to 51 I made it 100k and folded to the fifth bet.

It was a perfect spot though imo. I felt sure he was capable of 3betting light and also pretty sure he wasn't gonna 5b punt his stack off light vs me (we have v little history) so he needed a monster. I was getting 1:1 on the bluff so needed him to fold 50% and I was putting this guy to a decision for his 600k stack. He had Kings so my timing was unfortunate...felt my line was ok though.

16 remained at the end of the day, and I had 500k which was just above average. Needed a good nights sleep...

What were the stack sizes in the hand you called a 3 bet with the deuces and flopped a set? Can you gimme a bit more info on that hand as it seemed strange to be flatting 2's in that spot.

As I said above tho, wp. Very happy for you.

I opened to 16k at 4k/8k, He 3bet to 40k and had 190k behind. So it was 24 to call to win 40+16+4+4=64 +190 implied = 254k. Setmining ftw. He was the same guy I 4b bluffed and had a really good read on him both times, knew he was strong here.

DAY THREE

Seat draw was rigged so all the young good players were on one table and all the oldies/Mitch were on the other. Perrins on my left yet again. Went from 500k to 360k with a few small pots. Then Perrins raises stg I'm in the bb with I think 23bbs and finally squeezed out a decent wired pair. Perrins was opening extremely wide (Q6o utg 6handed I saw at showdown once) so I decided to click it back.

I thought it'd be more likely he'd level himself into thinking I was full of it and bluff shove than call it off if I shoved. It happened to work out perfect - he shoved I snapped and my QQ held vs his T9o.

700k. Next pot with Perrins (we're 40bigs deep now) he minraises stg again I peel the bb with and decided to donk on for about 45% pot. He called. Turned the lovely , figured he was floating here a bunch so barrelled my FD. He called and the three clubs on the was beeeaauuuutiful and he paid off a half pot bet. Imo, backdooring flushes is just as sexy as flopping sets, if not more. In this case, it was one of the sexiest parsleys I'd ever seen.

I had 1.5million and in very good shape. I think 10 were left at this point. On the final table bubble had two speed bumps. First was losing TT<K5 vs a shorty then I 3b Dan Lamings open with he called. two hearts. I check he checked. Turn was a . I bet 100k (bout half pot) he called. River came , I bet 200k and he didn't take too long before moving all in for about 1 million total. FML!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought his value range here consisted of AJ AQ JT and couldn't really seea bluff range at all. All of his hands have showdown value (don't think he'd be floating with 56suited on the turn or anything) and I don't think he'd be sick enough to turn a king or QT or 77 into a bluff on the final table bubble, given my range was pretty strong, we were both big stacks and there was 3 <10 bb stacks left. I folded and felt pretty happy it was the right fold...still don't know of course, I'd love to find out though....

We got to the 8 handed final table, I had 1million average was 800k I think and there was a seat redraw. Perrins on my direct left with 2milly. FML. Dan Laming on my direct right with 2milly. FML. This was going to be tough.
