My parents were dead against it until my first WSOPE cash. I didn't tell them I was playing it, when they found out on Day 2 they panicked and were trying to think of how they could come up with £10k to bail me out if I didn't win, god knows how they thought I'd got the money to buy in. Anyway after I explained that I was in for $80 and more importantly cashed for £60k they were very happy, but for the next 2 years they'd still ask when I would be getting a real job. It took a long time, but eventually my mum told me she was very proud that I was making my own way in the world. Hang in there mate, they'll turn.
shameless brag post imo

Alex, forget bankroll, entering tournaments etc what are you gonna spend your new found pocket change on? I always think it's good to splash some about in the retail world after each win to celebrate.
Car? Watch? Clothes? Gadget / techers? Gold Croquet stick?

Just tried to go on a baller shopping spree but failed epically. I bought a £20 teeshirt and a subway!
Have plans though...I move house in a week, I'll go then.
iPad2, iPhone 4 and 28" PC screen possibly...

Orange had a deal recently, where you paid £100 for the two. I think this tied you into a lengthy contract though and these companies do not usually give much away! By the time the contract would expire the iphone7 would be out.

Sent Keys and Keith a message today telling them that I'd be playing 1/2 on my own dime now.
Keith replied
"Yeah no probs - obviously you're dead to me now"

Just wanted to say again, huge congratulations, I'm with Lil dave on the comments he made about wanting the hard workers @ the game to win, you thoroughly deserve it imo.
Hope you stay grounded, and sensible to an extent, and carry on building up your roll, you have had a massive helping hand from your previous stakers, and it has worked out for you, with your continued hard work at the game, and constant improvement, I'm sure you will carry on being a very successful poker player :-)
