Please tell me you guys crushed Sean at Monopoly again.
Yeh we did, from the first orbit it was between me and Andy ftw but Andy luckboxed the free parking and the green set, and had the $$ to build on that, already had hotels on the light blues. So I got crushed too in the end.

If she's tanking KK then she probs fold TT>, AK, maybe even JJ and everything else she raises with, which admit isn't much but still, it's obv a jam.
probs getting levelled here sigh.

/\ this. William Swinscoe for the win. He must have used his runbad at Gala earliar in
the week when he crashed out of the triple chance in 3 hands.

Yesterday was fun. Had a good session on SKY POKER. Playing. 50/1 6max - it's a lot of fun and I'm doing alright. Played a quick monopoly game with Sean and Andy, then headed out for a curry with Keys, Tom, Sean and Steve Berto. Really yum and lots of good banter, keys didn't seem to mind me late regging for the deepstack,
neither did he mind (much) losing the ccr so all was good.
Dream start to the deepstack, arrived in level 3, doubled up first hand, ran golden for a level or two And by level 5 had 70k avg 21. Sean was railing then went to gala, I rang Hannah during the break to say goodnight, and that was it. Then we had J4o for 6 levels. Ajsjdkskaa. Picked my spots ip and made a few decent bluffs and floats. Won a decent pot flopping a straight with T8hh on 976 and stacked off A9, made some thin value bets and were getting snapped off, up to 90k. Bluffed off a chunk and bled down to 25bbs. Tina opens in late pos, I shove 33 on the button, she tanks and tanks and calls with kings.
So I got massively nitrolled out the tournament with 30mins to go of the day. Sigh. Pretty frustrating. Only 11 made it through to day 2 which was pretty ridiculous. DTD need to revise that IMO. Field was so soft today it was incred.
Playing again today gogogo etc etc
Brilliant slowroll as well. Announces "pays!" and slaps Berto's card on the table, "er, I mean, um, eliminated. Unlucky Keys." Dinner was good though, and banterlicious.
Sorry I had to leave. When I'm running bad, my rail runs good. Should have realised this and stuck around so you could bink the deepstack and I could save myself 3BI. Unlucky getting nitrolled. Run better today mate, it's been like a month since you shipped a five figure score. Stop dragging dem feet.

Sometimes I don't think the regulars do themselves any favours in the way they treat/interact with the occasional visitor be the visitor fish or not.
1st time poster on Blonde to completely agree with this.
i sat in the 1/2 game a couple of weeks ago and was basically made to feel unwelcome as altho im at DTD probably once a week im not one of the "regs". i was sitting in with £300,slightly tilty after busting out of the tourney and was deffo -ive EV in the game. That i shouldnt be sitting in is my problem not the other players but you would think that a "recreational" player should be welcomed with open arms!
i listen to Bart Hansons podcasts from Deucescracked and he talks of having a good table manner cos the other players are your customers. if Gala is a nicer atmosphere/more fun people especially losing/recreational players are gonna go there for a better night out while losing money.

Standard today was as soft I've ever seen it.

Two quotes from you Alex about the Deepstack.
Does it really help being so dismissive of your opponents?
last night Andy Murray came from 2 sets behind to win his match but i dont see him quoted anywhere saying "well i was only playing the number 57 in the world and as im number 4 it was obv just a matter of time before i won"
because we dont read hands as well as you "regs" or 4bet bluff every orbit doesn't mean we are not worthy of a seat at the table. Every player puts his £336 in,its just that your equity is greater than ours.
Poker must be the only game where the better players feel they can insult their "customers"

Pretty irrational post. You didn't say WHY the guys in the £1/2 made you feel unwelcome?
The second part is really pretty ridiculous. This is Alex's diary, he's documenting his poker play. Saying a field is 'soft' is not an underestimation of his opponents per se, it might even be a polite way to describe quite how bad they are. Neither is it disrespectful.

If you think a tourney is soft you can say it is. It's not insulting anyone it's just giving an opinion.
Self righteous claptrap having a go at Alex for this.
In terms of regs not making recreational players feel welcome - well as they're livelihood depends on keeping 'customers' happy it's pretty stupid of them if they are unwelcoming to outsiders. Some of the players being rude might not have been the pros it might have been some of the regular recreational players - obv don't know as I wasn't there.

Got too agree with Peejaytoo comments.
Irrespective of this being Alex's diary (which I respect & enjoy reading!) I find a general arrogance from players who clearly play for a living to those who are recreational/have full time jobs and cannot commit 60hrs a week to poker. If you are a tight ABC Poker player you are perceived as a "NIT" if you show any sort of aggression you are perceived as a "FISH".
To be fair their are many "Recreational" players who have a decent understanding of the game who should be given a greater degree of creditability.
Alex has posted within the "Hand Analaysis" section a great debate on his A-10 hand about a player Terry who I have played with a few times with who is great for the game. Irrespective of the "PROS" perception of this type of player you would be lost without his bankroll to allow you to make a living. Both Jakalley and Mitch make great respectful comments about his knowledge/understanding of the game and I do not thing this should be dismissed. The bulk of players who have invested £336 into a the Deepstack tournament are not "SOFT" and deserve a little more respect!
I enjoy the diary more than anything on BLONDE so keep it coming!!!!!

I really can't win on this site. I'm posting a hh and need to describe the person involved. I didn't use any insulting or derogatory language, I was just giving the best description I could without say anything out of line.
Quote "Terry is fairly maniacal. He has been known to do some really crazy shit and can show up with 72o here. How maniacal he is, however, depends greatly on his mood, and today he's been fairly quiet, got out of line once to my knowledge showing T5o raising to 58 in a 16straddle pot. Views me as tightish I think but has played with me quite a lot so knows my games fairly well. He usually sits with 1k minimum. I've seen him blow through 4.5k in a few hours just from bluffing. But as I said, he's much more sedate recently and has been winning the last couple of weeks."
I got stick on another thread for describing a man as elderly.
Describing a field as soft on my diary? Please...
I'm definitely not guilt of not making recreational players welcome at the table, nor is mitch, Andy or anyone else I know who plays for a living. It's obv a terrible idea not to be totally respectful and welcoming.

Thanks, dw there's no track...just whatever comes up...
Was I in the group of players who made you feel unwelcome? Or was it a comment about a random 1/2 game you played?
