Other great things about the weekend-
1) Hannah was there. She railed for 12 hours on Monday, for someone that doesn't really follow poker that's a hell of a long time to be watching a poker tournament. Such a hero <3.
2) My rail was incred. Andy and Tom were on it from 2pm, and more and more descended as I got deeper and deeper. At the peak I think about 15-20 of my mates were there, plus loads of locals from the club were cheering me on - really makes a difference and made the whole experience even better.
3) The blonde support was amazing again <3 you guys. I read all the posts on here and on the update thread and I appreciate every one.
4) I seem to have made huge progress with how I come across at the table over the last year. Some nasty things were said about me on this thread back in February/March time and they were true - I hated them and I put a lot of work into getting that right. Now to read comments about how professionally and respectfully I handled myself at the table really means a lot and I'm really proud of myself for getting that fixed.

One final thing that I want to share, is the news that my brother Bobby who I wrote about a few weeks ago, got in to OXFORD to study Music!!!
What a great achievement that is and I am so so proud of him.
I came home tonight and my Mum was holding a carols night round her house (we all sing carols round the piano for an evening), not really my sort of thing [ ]
. I got involved and invited two mates from school round. Top night. Have a video of Bobby playing the piano with David (his mate who also got into Oxford) playing their version of Match of the Day, but in the minor key - LADS ON TOUR.

Good write up mate. Great year for you. Can't tell you how happy I am that this has worked out for you. I remember sitting to your right at Gala one evening earlier this year and you said to me, "I've lost £200 tonight and I don't even know how. Poker isn't fun anymore." At the time I think that was a decent percentage of your roll, and right there and then you could have convinced me that you were going to quit the game. £50k, one trophy, numerous trips around Europe and a regular seat in the local £2/5 game later, I think you've managed to convince everyone - most importantly yourself - that you'll be doing this for a long time to come.

Great posts Alex, think I echo everyone's sentiments in saying well done on a fantastic year.
It's clear you've made great improvements in your game and the way you conduct yourself around the table. Think it's important to not stop the learning process though; have you got any concrete poker-related goals for 2012?

Good question. Most of my 2012 goals will be concerning online poker. I want to get really good at that, put in lots of volume and move up stakes. Will be more specific closer to Jan 1st. Live poker goals - be more game selective. Play less midweek in regfilled games, continue to put in decent volume at the weekends and play lots of live donkaments.

Great tournament reports Alex.
Mine very rarely go beyond "I lost" or "I won"
What did you have when I raised out of turn? Must've been huge

Queens.
This was an interesting spot. I had 17bigs and found QQ in middle position. Matt raised from the Hijack before I'd acted. I limped, Matt's raise stood, then when it was back round to me, I shoved and he folded. Anyway I can extract more out of you Matt?!

I don't think so especially after I made my mistake. You've either picked a great spot to look strong or you genuinely are strong. I had
. Not a great 3 betting hand against your stack especially with 4 to act.
I blamed the dealer for that. Frankie had got up from the table to go to look at an all in and the dealer didn't take his cards in. I saw them and thought they were yours. With the colour of the cards and the felt + the lighting I just didn't see your cards.
Very frustrating and I felt very bad about it. Acting out of turn is a particular hate of mine.

Angle-shooting imo.
