Hi Hannah, Alex was supposed to be coming out in town tonight to celebrate Plintons bink so we reserved him a seat.  As he's not coming do you want to come instead?  Also space for your sister if she's in town.

Where you going?

Me and Stu will be around cornerhouse area about 9ish if you're anywhere near.

no offence but you n Stu dont have the same attraction as Hannah and her sister Smiley

U guys havent even met my sister...someone's been stalking on fb/alex has been showing off the real reason he goes out with me, for those fleeting times he gets to see my sister. Lol!

If Celtic or Outragous76 are going i can see if Pippa is about lol...

Made day 2 with 101,500 which is double average - noice.

Had a really fun day, had a sick 2 hands in a row which got me from 29k to 80k then steady for a while, won a couple of half decent pots to hit the 100k mark to finish with. I love the italians. I never really use live reads much, don't find them that useful, but here, wow, they're like  insanely useful. I dunno whether I've just got better at them or the italians are just really readable but I'm on fire!

Some of the stuff is like level 1 - like you know when people lean back and huff and puff and shake their head  then call or raise? That's NOT hollywood here - it's actually geniune, they are really unhappy if they sigh and shake their head! I pulled off a huge bluff near the end of the day based on this read, in a spot where I never would've dreamed of bluffing, but the guy basically told me he was gonna fold if I barrelled again - easy game!

And I made the sickest call I've ever made before today, more on that when I do the TR - will get flamed for it I'm sure as I don't even beat some bluffs lol but my read was so strong, I knew if I didn't go with it, I might as well go home because that's why I play, and that's what I think makes me good at this, and if I'm gonna ignore my instincts then I couldn't live with it. I think it was the most satisfying pot I've ever won.

And then I made house over flush vs the same guy the very next hand, what a life! Felt incredible after those two hands. Morale insanely high!

Feeling seriously good about day two, got a day off tomorrow, might get the train to Monte Carlo and have a look round there, it's only like 10 minutes away I think #whynot.

Alex - if you go to Monte Carlo today, do try & dine at the Cafe de Paris, on one of the outside tables, overlooking the Grand Casino. It will be right up your street - proper posh.

Will have a look, might be a bit pricey for me from what I've heard!

Only one other from 1a from what I saw / 150, a guy called Ben Jones, but he busted so it's just me flying the flag from 1a I think.

I thought this guy on my right was British but then I found out he was David Peters who's a massive sicko!

While I've been away, newly relegated DTD Degens have been relegated (fair enough, we lost every match at least 5-0) but have put in some excellent pre season training work with a fitness camp in Marbella where we played tennis, swam and even wrestled to get our fitness levels up. We improved our tatical awareness by gathering in local pubs to watch superior teams play. Rob Yong has provided us with a new kit for the season (actually true)

And the results are showing already! We kicked off the campaign with a 16-3 victory on wednesday (sadly I missed it). And here is the league table (taken a picture in case it never happens again)

oioi!!!!

I was considering leaving the team but now we're in a league more our standard and not getting battered every week, morale is back on the up and I'm hoping to get a place in the lineup next week.

You'll probably need to win the comp to pay for a cup of tea though, I imagine.

I don't recall it being that dear, Skippy. Not cheap, obv, but all things considered, very reasonable, as I recall.
