I love playing online tournaments.

Here's a few reasons why.

1) Prizepools. It's so exciting playing for huge amounts of money everyday, and when you play loads of tables you usually get a deep run and the sweat is awesome.

2) Bad beats, schmad beats. You get them all over the place but you just move on to the next hand there's no time to think or worry about them, it pisses you off for a second but then it's forgotten. Then you get lucky somewhere else and you're loving it!   It is annoying when you're really deep in a comp and you bust in a horrible cooler/beat but strangely enough I just think "that sucks" and forget about it after a few minutes. I've had some sick beats on finals/vdeep recently and they've not bothered me at all.

3) Team morale. Playing sessions with mates and grinding together, sweating each others deep runs, all helping and supporting each other, it's great for morale and we always have a good laugh regardless of how the session goes.

I'm sure I'm being a total mug here and when I go on a horrible downswing you'll read the opposite post lol, but for now, I'm in love with mtts!

one of us, one of us!

Once you get the online MTT bug it's hard to go back and grind any other form of poker! mtts ftw!

Hi Alex.

Any suggestions for another diary I can read? I'm an avid follower of yours but looking to branch out...

Thanks

Oh yes, I can. There's a new one started by Tom "WotRthechances" High only yesterday.

The boy writes wonderfully well, especially when reporting the successes of his heroes. Full of love the game and not a bad player, too - bound to be a gripping read.

The diary is called "Trying to get my message out there" and can be found here http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=57716.msg1565369#msg1565369

Hope you, and others, enjoy.

Alex

hen this happens….He limps utg (on my bb) and we get to see a flop for free. I have Q4o and the flop comes Q 10 3. I check, he bets £15 into a £10 pot. When his bet crosses the line I have already decided that I am folding and I’ll wait for a better spot to get him back. But then 3 people call before me, so I ‘call for value’ and wait to see the turn.

ya.

'Well I sat patiently until ‘the one’ came… I finally woke up with 85o (8h5d – almost suited) in the cut off. So I obviously raised to £10 and as the action moved to my new friend on the button he says to me ‘wow, you’re so unlucky’ and repops it to £42. The small blind folds and the big blind decides to flat call. I don’t think I am good enough to fold in this spot, so I decide to peel a flop.

The flop isn’t too bad for my hand. . There were a couple of limpers so the pot is now about £130. The bb leads for £60 and I call. In my head I have the right price to hit any 7, 8 or 5. What I didn’t consider was what my button mate was going to do. He reraises to £260. Ooops. As it happens the bb now pushes his £310 stack over the line and I have a decision to make. I do a quick calculation and I still believe I have the right price to call in this spot. So I do.'

lol

I remember playing £1/2 with Carla in DTD. It was all so pleasant, and then...yeah, let's not go there.
