Binking on roulette would have been the nut worst result.

I always have snap massive regrets on any sort of punts live, and I'm very conscious of staying away from them. The problem with saying its just a £250 spin, is a) the possibility of it becoming more and b) £250 spin, wins you 700 say. Would you stop there? Or does 1 250 spin become 3x 250 spin 2x 300 spin, in which case your -ev is mounting up. I mean, I agree with morale, but i know for myself, the loss of 2000 is greater than 1800 with an x% chance of getting out the hole. This might just be due to roll size. I suspect you have a lot more bis than I do, even if we compared it in big blinds for main game, so possibly this explains my nit nature. Plus working in my dads bookies and seeing people just gamble http://www.restaurantsatbains.com/?gclid=CNGShvrK-K8CFRAQfAodBDyRFA life away, not that I anticipate it happening to you.

Alex this is total mug thinking. If you're gonna play roulette always bet on number 8!  But seriously herbies right don't play the roulette (but if you do Ocho it!). But seriously don't do it!...really
If I'd binked the first spin I would've stopped. I split £125 on 1,2,4,5 and £125 on 17,18,20,21 so I would've got £1100 or something then I would've just quit for sure.

I think it's fine if it's in controlled small amounts. Say <5 spins a month or whatever. I'm never gonna get into that sort of stuff, my mind just doesn't work in that way.

Arghhhhhh! Why can't I do quotes! It's so f'ing simple.

Anyway bit more advice you seem to be taking a lot of high variance lines lately (and by high variance I really mean bad).
Obviously I only get the highlights but it seems like youre constantly trying to force the action.  I mean why 3 bet q5 in such a soft comp also villain isn't necessarily folding a mid pair hand - he'll prob just put you on ak and call anyway. 7 betting 99 200bb deep in a 1/2 game that's gotta be bad too.

Anyway just play simples good pokerz today and don't you dare try any of this 3 betting light malarky on me if were at the same table!

My worst problem with roulette is that I get paranoid and really weird. Every one a number comes in that I haven't backed, even f I havnt backed any at all I convince myself  that I wa going to bet on that number. If my number comes in I convince myself that I was going to put more money on that number.

The odd £250 every now and then on black/red is better than waiting all night to get AK in against a pair....

this is the problem with gambling, an affluent, smart guy wants to have a punt off one evening with money well in his "comfortably affordable" limit and instead of everyone going "meh, would have been sick if you bink" everyone is staging an intervention.

There is nothing wrong with -EV punting and there is nothing wrong with table games, in fact, I'm going to go as far as to say there is way more RIGHT with them than is wrong.

They are fun - maybe you don't think they are, that's fine I don't like Canoeing but I know lots of people enjoy it. Obviously if you yearly earn is £25k and you spend £15k of it gambling, this is a problem. But if you can afford it why the hell not? If you like it, just because you're a pro gambler doesn't mean you have to spend your whole life making +EV decisions, I know doctors that drink a lot, gardeners with scruffy front lawns etc.

It's basically the same as saying to someone who likes doing crosswords, WHY THE FUCK YOU SPENT £800 on crosswords last year, what a waste, you could have bought groceries with it instead.

Lighten up people!

I once started to play blackjack online for £20 after a night of drinking and gambling. About 20 mins later i was testing the misery threshold. I mean, obviously spend if you find it relaxing and I doubt I'd even comment if Al had lost £300 drinking with friends in a casino, but flicking it in when tilted is a nasty result that leads to problems in the long run. I don't expect anyone to soley make +ev decisions, but is anyone enjoying a £250 spin whilst 1800 down, when they are basically just hoping to bink to get unstuck. Might as well work in and do it, so you actually feel happy if you won. I'm very aware I'm younger and "immature" when compared to many people in gambling and on these boards, but anything i can say to stop Al punting money away post sessions is definitely worth it. Some of the best players i know regularly gamble to occupy sometime, and it seems like a few -ev punts here and there, but all of a sudden they are in a deep pit and cant get out.

In other notes, spoke to a former boss of mine, who is a pro sports bettor, and he said to back Holland/RVP for the Euros if i wanted a sweat. Rest he gave me I'll post when I've got on myself. Currently a good few pimms into a family and friends bbq. Hope day2 is going well mate, get the fucking lot!

What a day.

I don't know what the right word is but, I really really enjoyed it.

Disaster start, down to 9k at one point. Spun up to a peak of 1.1milly. Made it through with 400k.

Some really exciting poker today, high adrenaline, lots of sweats, tons of 3/4betting - sick metagame between me, Dan Ward and Jack Allen. It was really fun.

The biggest pot I played was an 800k pot with Jamie Burland with on , really sick river, he had Jacks full and I had to pay off a big river bet. Now he has 2.2m going into tomorrow and I have <20bigs Sad

I have a good chance though, and I'm good at allin showdowns this weekend, so hopefully I'll respin and make a charge at the final table.

13 left, 2k locked up 46k ftw. LET'S DO THIS!
