Holy moly - Bobby is amazing. Very good looking boy, too.
Do you have a crush on him?

Very good Tom, very good.
To be fair, I do not know him thATWELL. (Go on, beat that).
PS - My point about him being a good looking boy was really, sort of in code, that he must have been "best pup of the litter".

I'm not trying. It would drive me Mendelssohn.

Try harder Tom.
If we wanted to compare the world's great pianists, we should compile a liszt.
At which juncture, & with apologies to Alex, I think we should stop derailing his diary.
I therefore declare myself the winner of the pianist playoff.

random bit of info from me today...
I learned from you tube video - axis of evil
That there are only 4 chords used in 95%+ pop songs, demonstrated there nicely by bobby and by AOE in their video where they seemlesly move between 20 songs in a matter of seconds.
To top that off im sat in bed doing all of this from my phone.... Super impressed bobby, nice one! (also, has he got his eyes closed while playing??)

yeh that axis of evil song is pretty funny. Yeh it's incredible how so many hugely popular songs are so so so simple using just those 4 chords. confirmed eyes not closed. that's just a bit too much.

Was hanging out with my brother yesterday and we were chatting about some of the popular music on the radio these days. I was like do you know x and he would just play it on the piano perfectly having just heard it a few times on the radio. So I got him to do a short medley of 4 current "chart hits" and recorded it on my new camera.
I consider myself pretty musical - I could work out how to play those songs reasonably quickly, probably listen a few times, work it out slowly chord by chord and then I'd be able to give a pretty good rendition. Bobby literally hears it once can remember it and play it perfectly first time, it's incredible.
Good stuff

That axis of evil thing is really clever and pretty funny, but it's also a bit misleading. It's a bit like saying 'all the songs in the western world are made using the same 12 notes!' They are. But it's not really the point.

It's not really like saying that. Since there's only 12 notes altogether, however there's hundreds of different chords to use.
