Pretty com how u say the weeks gone tez but ur still up 1700£
It's called i've just started playing regularly and have no idea of variance and I expect to win every session. He'll get beat down enough that after a while he'll be more realistic!
is this a wind up? probs is, im not gonna rise to it, even though i am so tilted right now i can't even see straight.

just had a terrible session, lost £600 at 50/1. Playing against one of the worst group of players I've ever been blessed to be sat with. All sat deep, all absolutely awful. (except pleno and his mate :p). This is a whine so apologies but I need to get it out. I played for like 6hours and had no pocket pairs, AK once and AQ once. No joke. It's been like this for 4days. And vs a guy that is chucking in hundreds of pounds to every pot with awful hands, he bets £50 with 77 on a Qhigh flop I call with KQ, it comes a 7 and he shoves for like1.5x pot. Which he's been doing all night with medium pair, bottom pair hands. How can I read that? they just always seem to have the nuts against me and give it away to everyone else. I know that is just variance, part of the game and I should just deal with it and move on, which I am doing, just need a rant first. I've had downswings before of course, worse than this, so I can take it and bounce back. I'm pretty happy with my game, although I've not exactly been in any tough spots. Every decision has been pretty easy since I've been over here, it's just all been going wrong.
Anyway, people will stop reading this diary if I carry on moaning so I'll hopefully have more interesting things to write about over the next week or so.

Confirmed softest game I've played in. Ended up 7 people with 350bb+ going absolutely wild. Even the passive station Paco (legend) was c/jamming 200+bbs with q9o on ak97ddd.

Alex, you are clearly a very good player and, at this level, you will generally be a class above the average player playing these kind of stakes. As I have mentioned before I also play full time at these kind of stakes live and you probably have been running pretty good to not have had any big downswings but against these kind of really bad players you will have days and sometimes weeks when just absolutely nothing ever goes right but you need to be careful not to let it get to you because it only takes an hour of tilting to fuck up a good proportion of those 100+ hours. I am notsuggesting you have tilted off your money but sometimes just take a break. Even when the games are really great you just need to walk away if you are not mentally right. Take solace in the fact that you are the best player at the table and in the long run you will get the lot and next time they outdraw you then smile sweetly, say "nice hand sir" and console yourself with the fact that the player opposite is kind enough to be contributing towards your weeks in the sun.
On another note, I would say that your hourly rate so far is really pretty good for the stakes you are playing. I normally play $1-2 live and I am averaging about $14 an hour over a pretty big sample and that includes my earnings from some decent high hand promotions at the casinos I play at. Irrespective keep writing about your exploits and also do make sure you add the figures. It will keep you sane.

FWIW I was insanely impressed that Alex took the house keys and walked home today. I mean there was so many terrible guys super deep and he could have tilt reloaded and known he had an edge, but he wasn't 100% mentally right and he walked away. It takes alot to do that, I know I would struggle.
$14 p/hour without paying tax seems about right but I think in Gib it really could be closer to $25.

Hi Mate,
Not that the old boy is going to teach you how to play! But with age comes wisdom! Lock down your bank roll, take two days out, don't play any poker what so ever and that includes on line. Go jet jet skiing, para gliding, get pissed, eat burgers! dance until your feet hurt! Do that for two days, chill on the 3rd, drink plenty of water, go for a jog.
Then breath the fresh sea air in, remember you have a loving family, good friends, a lovely girlfriend. You are young with many great years in front of you. Remember all this.................. then........... take £500 down to the local casino and kick some fishes arses!!!!!
Trust me it will work....................... b strong, b lucky.

cheers redarmi and shaun. yeh im fine about it all, just immediately after a session is when I'm the most down, which is when I often post. I'll be taking today off for sure, having a sick night out in spain and forget all about poker!

loosing breaks your spirit so hard, and puts you in a loosing mentality that basically makes you loose.
need to take a lil break, forget the results and really really concentrate on playing well, cos it's during these times that you often start to play badly.
this from a man who's lost 21/26 sessions online this month :p

Why would I try and wind you up?
Your cliffs of playing seem to be
win lots, run super good, win lots
win atournie, run super good,
lose a pot = world is against you
card dead live= should never happen
Be realistic dude, you will lose tonnes of the time when you get it in and anyone has any equity no matter how small, you will regularly be card dead for weeks live because you're only being dealt 2 hands an hour etc etc.
You need to be more realistic rather than expecting to sit down get dealt premiums and hold. It's nice to dream but you need to be realistic if you're going to be doing this every day rather than having a sense of injustice. Go play online, and experience some real variance then you won't complain about live again!

yeh i kno, but i think you think i've just started playing since i started this diary. ive been playing like 4 years and played loads online last year and the year before, maybe half a million hands so its not like variance is anything new. yeh live variance is pretty sick, but the winrate is so massive it compensates somewhat for the tiny#hands per hour you get.
think u have skimread this thread and just picked out a few things that support your points, rungood, win a tourney, lose a pot, think the world is against you. its not like that at all.
