yeh i kno, but i think you think i've just started playing since i started this diary. ive been playing like 4 years and played loads online last year and the year before, maybe half a million hands so its not like variance is anything new. yeh live variance is pretty sick, but the winrate is so massive it compensates somewhat for the tiny#hands per hour you get.

think u have skimread this thread and just picked out a few things that support your points, rungood, win a tourney, lose a pot, think the world is against you. its not like that at all.

There's a big discontinuity between understanding 'variance' which is about a mirrion different factors together and then saying 'I couldn't get dealt a hand live at 30 hands an hour for 3 whole hours'. Why do you expect a hand in that amount of time lol?

i said 6 hour session, probs 25hands per hour = 150hands, pretty rare not to get a single pair (you should get once in 17hands i believe) also i only mentioned it cos its been 4days like that. AND im not saying card dead = downswing, theres soooo many other things that have contributed to it - running way below EV in allin situations, not getting paid on big hands, always have 2nd best hands, no bluffs working, draws never getting there, getting drawn out on loads, drunk spewtards always having the nuts vs me.

its a whole bunch of things, not any one factor that im talking about when i say variance or downswing.

Spooky talking of golden bollocks! MITCH, just got home from a 1/2 game at DTD Mitch raises to £14, I'm in the small blind look down at  re-raise to $45, MITCH of course calls, bless him flop comes  , I bet £100, MITCH puts me all in for another £160 that I have behind, I sigh he has  ....................... turn comes MITCH scoops.
