Man Alex if I had a pound coin for everytime I've gone to bed thinking EXACTLY what you wrote in that post id be rolled to play 1mitch/2mitch in the vip room...
I'v had a pretty aggorvating year, been losing for 50k hands online now (see blog below for horror graph if ur interested
) whenever I play higer stakes llive cash i get absolutley bludgeoned, and even yesterday i went to bed hella tilted by PLO ftops.....sometimes I storm away from my PC going "grr fucking poker, I never win kljejhjkhndfjf" then half an hour later after i've watched TV and chilled for a bit, all i wanna do is play some more lol if that's not you then you couldn't do it for a living.
Temperament is so huge cos emotion in decision making pretty much always = bad decisions.
Everyone goes through this, even people who you don't expect will, but one of the harsh reality's of professional poker imo is this particular thing, the frustration when losing, is something you HAVE TO deal with by yourself, because we all go through it and no-one wants to or is willing to play counsel, and gl getting anyone normal to understand or sympathize with this.
Get back on the saddle
I'm gonna crush todayyyyyyyyy!! Fuckin love this game how it torments you like this!

chin up big guy. the mental side of poker is often harder to control than anything else. the hard facts are that only a small %age of live poker players are winning players. and the amount of poker players who have never gone broke is next to none. you win a super 50 or incredible 100 at the weekend which is easily within your capabilities then you increase your roll massively and feel on top of the world again. in the mean time get back on the horse and get grinding that cash game at gala/dtd because you still have the bills to pay. when things are going well its easier to take the beats and just smile and say "thats poker". but when times are hard then thats when your character has to shine through. when the going gets tough the tough make the nutz.

Massive +1 to all of this
My year has pretty much mirrored daves results wise. The last 2 months online have been an absolute car crash and big live cash games have gone even worse but it does happen to everyone and its something that you just have to learn to deal with.
I can be absolutely sure that while I don't have nearly the roll I had a couple of months ago I definitely feel far more zen and chilled out about the game and how brutal it can be and i'll for sure bounce back.
We all have mates that seem to crush 99% of the time and never lose but thats mainly a good reflection on their own mental state. They don't do any complaining they just get on with it and once you've cut out all the self-deprocation its so much easier to be confident about your game and make good decisions which inevitably leads to better results

haha just fancied a change, no reflection on anything no. That pic is when I went to Leeds dressed as a tiger to raise money for charity with notts Uni. Got battered on the bus journey home, was fun day out.
