Hi Alex,

Im looking through blond poker for the first time and i come across your pic, Im thinking - i was playing against him weekend just gone!

So I read your thread, a real good read you are on one of lifes journey and riding it well, making the most of it and imo it is a pretty priceless & damn cool experience - By the time you get to my age (32) you'll be glad you've done it im sure.
Last weekend was my first at DTD, i live in Cornwall, married, two kids, run a business blah blah so playing poker is not a regular option, maybe play a few times a year. I went up to dtd to meet a mate i havent seen in years and play the 300 deepstack, that is where i first came across you - I was the player you doubled up on first hand! im playing   your playing   you flop a straight - I flop top pair - i raise, you re raise, i think your bluffing because you think i have just high i shove, im an idiot,  I leave the tourny!

We both were sitting at 1-2's on Sat night and Sun eve as well. I was quiet as i always am at the poker table being a novice, but doing loads of what i call "reverse hollywooding" when i got the chance. On sun eve i was sitting next to the very quiet indian guy you asked if he was on blond poker.
Because of the 300 deepstack tourny knockout you wernt my fave player i must admit! i kept calling your raises hoping to flop the nuts and take you down haha ! I would have never said this to your face but as i have bumped into you here i might as well - I thought by far you were the best player at the tables i sat at that weekend, as you said in an earlier thread you were feeling good that weekend & in the cash and it showed big time, the confidence you did everything with was very intimidating to me and everyone else. You were head of the table (s) for sure. I think if you work out how to keep those confidence levels you will be unstoppable.  I may be up again for the montecarlo in december, will say hello if you there. you've prob read this on your ipad whilst on the grind lol

Lost Sad

It was a really fun match though, he was as aggressive and tricky as I expected, and I didn't have anything to combat it with, didn't connect with many boards or have any bluff catchers. I went down to 5k to his 15k so things were looking bleak. Then I got some momentum together and chipped up, hit some flops, had the best hand at showdown a few times, a few cbets were getting through, that sort of thing - back to level. The blinds were 200/400 so we had 25bigs each and it was clear it was going to be down to one decisive hand. I opened   and he shoved, I snapped. He had and the board ran out Sad

Oh well, good experience and felt I played well to get back in it, and adjusted well to his game and of course, I got it in good Wink. He played very well too I have to say (sounding like a Match of the Day interview now) and really made things tricky, put me in some tough spots early on where I would've had to put my whole stack on the line to find out whether he was bluffing or not and I bottled it a few times. I don't regret the decision to play him at all, I'd do it again as well - @3:2 it's definitely +EV for me.

@Tteeee - thanks for those kind words. Not often people sign up to blonde to post something nice on here so it's much appreciated! Unlucky about the deepstack exit - always nice to flop the nuts! See you next time you come no doubt.

Hi Dan - I have already said that Luke Fields needs to play a qualifier before he plays me, just like obscure Eastern European teams have to play in July before they get into the proper stages of the Champions League to play Man U etc, if he beats someone of above average HU ability (say 10x better than Cos), I will give him a shot:). Secondly, our £5K HU Comp prop bet runs out 31st December 2012, any reason why you are bringing it up now? See you soon mate, hope Barcelona is amazing.

Hi Cos Smiley You boys down south are always chirping, if I need you to improve my Dusk Till Dawn HU Challenge record of P45 W40 L5 (well, P48 W43 L5 if I count Flushy... but he was so bad I don't feel its credible to include him in the stats) you would always be my first port of call, impossible is a word I don't like to use in poker, but after playing u HU, its very hard not to use that word when filling in the missing gap in"It would be ___________________ for Cos to beat me HU"

Alex - You should fold AT versus me   I played Terry afterwards for £1k, he refused to take 6-4 (proper poker player) and we got it in with AK v A5, no 3 outer, so I guess A5 was my lucky hand today. On a serious note, I said to Simon Trumper that you are GOING to be damn good player in THE FUTURE

Cheers

Rob

PS. What do Dan, Cos and Alex NOW all have in common?

Railed most of the heads up match. Rob was battering Alex for the first few levels, but did just seem to show up on the river a lot with bottom pair no kicker, eight gap two pair combos. Alex did a great job clawing it back and was very unlucky to exit. Was a fun game to watch from a neutral point of view, though obviously a little disappointed for the posh boy.

Jack Wills just sent me their "Autumn Term Handbook 2011." If you want Alex, I could swing by with it to cheer you up. Tongue

It was a £1k and it runs out on December 31st 2011, plenty of people that can confirm - I'd have never suggested a £5k because if it happened I'd want all my own action
