Alex has no wifi but is sending me the odd text to keep me updated and so I'll post on here any updates I get.

Started at 2pm and he's had an incredible start. Gets AA in a 3bet pot on 222 and to quote him "some italian decides to roll his face on the keyboard and donate 4/5ths of his stack to me. 58k from 30k starting!"

If the currency in Switzerland is the CHF(Swiss franc) why are the prices in Euros?

Its pretty standard practice at these events to offer everything they can in both the local currency and euros so they can charge more to the lazy poker players that can't be bothered to get currency exchanged which is a fantastic idea on their part! I'd say its for convenience too but its not really if you want to get a taxi anywhere - very hard to get away with not having to change money and getting screwed on the rate by the hotel because you only need a smallish amount to cover a few taxi journeys, not enough for someone to trade for stars $ at spot.

It's also part of Italy:

A good start for Britain's Alex Goulder after he three-bet to 900 versus a 325 open from Marco Gambini. The latter called to see a 2undefined2undefined2undefined flop. Gambini checked and Goulder bet 1,150 only for the Italian to raise to 3,800 which Goulder called to see the Qundefined on the turn.

Gambini now bet 7,000 and Goulder flat-called to see the 9undefined on the river - now Gambini bet 12,000 with just 7,000 left, Goulder moved all in and Gambini opted to fold.

Goulder is up to 52,000.

More importantly, if he does a win does it cover the taxi to the aiport?
