Jase, David - you make no mention of that wonderful Steam Locomotive.

Why? Are you feigning indifference?

It's a fine machine the old steam loocccy. Historically we owe it a lot as well, as it was (if im correct) the pioneer for train travel as we kow it today.

I completely stunning piece of engineering, no question about it

Dave I said they All can't make money in a tough game. Which they cant

It just seems basic maths Dave. I only go to Dtd at weekends and see them all playing together and most of the decent pots Alex reports are between themselves. Times are changing obv but you see George in Leeds, Nottingham, Manchester, hull infact anywhere the game is good for him. He has stood the test of time better than most has he not? Games come and go and change all the time and you have to do as much as is possible to keep ahead.

As you are telling me off again I guess my thought process is wrong Smiley

I think Dave is from York Tony. That museum is on my things to do list for the boys. They turn 4 and 5 in the summer, are the still a little young yet or would it be a great day out for them.

The kids just informed me that the train you pictured is either Percy or Henry Wink

haha not telling you off at all, just saying I don't think it's IMPOSSIBLE for 4 strong regs to make money in 9 handed games which feature the 4 of them, 2 other strong players and 3 unknown people, I thnk it's possible for them all to make money in that game in the long run.

George is a good example but he's always in leeds supporting the games here if one runs (which not many are right now)

Say there's 6 regs and 2 fish. The fish each have £1k and are probably 80% to lose it. That's £1600 between 6 regs = £266 each night on average. That's fine tyvm.

More commonly, there's 3/4 strong regs, not 6. I think, Jason, you're under the impression that Simon Deadman, Andy Hulme, Nick Hicks, Neil Giblin play those cash games every day. They don't. Simon almost never plays anything higher than 50/1, Andy grinds online 95% of nights, Nick and Neil both play online most of the time too, and probably come in once a week on average.

The only person I play with pretty much every day is Mitch, and in the last month, Peejay. Sean most of the time too. Mitch is basically my only long-term competitor in the games and although he's very good at flopping sets, there's enough liquidity in the games for the both of us. The proof is in the pudding... I see PJ as a long term fixture now too, but no-one else really.

Tikay, I will be sure to go to the Railway museum, I'll get a photo to prove it!

The prize exhibit - obviously - is this beauty, which both my Gandad & Dad drove, & fired on. It is truly the world's greatest steam locomotive.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GWR_6000_Class_6000_King_George_V

When it went to America in 1927, my Grandad went with it, as the British Rail rep, & the Americans presented him with the commemorative brass bell which remains, to this day, on the front of the locomotive.

Family connections aside, it's surely not as great as the Mallard or the Flying Scotsman, both in the same museum?

Skippy!

I'm in a wonderful mood, & I try to avoid argument, but this is not even close.

For starters, "Flying Scotsman & "Mallard" are both LNER locomotives, (the railway equivelant of Argos) whilst King George V is GWR, ("God's Wonderful Railway"), which is more sort of Harrods.  Game over, really.

Then we get to hue, & colour. Blue. BLUE?

No self-respecting locomotive should ever be blue. Thomas excepted.

I don't wish that we ruin Alex's lovely thread, but please, do be serious.

And if we are being serious, no, they are not anything like as wonderful, or iconic, as 6000. I see that Loco in exactly the same way that Plenners sees NUFC.

Lol @ skippy the philistine trying to show his knowledge. At least the 3 year olds assessment that Henry is green and Thomas is blue was a well thought out response
