The 2-5 game on Friday, what's the minimum buyin for the table. Will be watching on the stream obv.
£1k i imagine. Pretty excited about it
Did you say you'd be running some sort of book for this?
no?
i did say dave and i were gonna sell small %ages of ourselves to blondes for the sweats. but not quite sure how its gonna work / how to structure it, never done cash staking before.
Ah, OK - my bad.
Same thing then effectively.

Tonight is my 5th MTT session in the past week or so. I guess I've played about 100 tournaments over the 5 sessions. I reckon I've cashed in maybe 4 or 5 of those. And all of those cashes were mincashes. Certainly less than 500 euros combined cashes for 5 days and >50 hours worth of grinding. So huge losses obviously. I'm game selecting soooo hard as well, probably playing some of the softest tournament on the internet at the moment, some of the stuff I've been witnessing is just incredible. This guy whacked me earlier, peeling a 3bet out of 23bbs with 82s and rivering two pair. Totes standard.
But they're just destroying me day after day. I've ran AQ into AK in uberstandard spots like a ridiculous amount recently, I'm not winning any flips, not holding, not getting there blah blah blah, see it's boring isn't it?
Lost £2k in last 2 sessions of live cash as well.
Soul destroying days and nights, and writing about it ain't doing any good - but been getting comments about the blog dying out and about me letting it go etc, so here it is...
Tomorrows cash game is going to be a pretty big night. Gonna be one of the biggest games I've ever played in, and coming at a pretty important time. Really hope it goes well. Gonna be a lot of fun anyway.

Good luck tomorrow Alex, fair play for being open about not running well too. I'm guessing tomorrow will be ridiculously aggro so I'm quite sure you'll get enough opportunites to turn it into a profitable month!

I'm actually starting to doubt my game now though. I've haven't really before. At least never to this extent. I mean I've lost so much and for so long now that I'm just starting to doubt whether it is just variance.
I'm on a $22k downswing on stars.com for example, where my abi is about $50 i guess - so over 400 buyins. That's a fkn lot. I never ever seem to get over starting stack on there, let alone a stack at all. My graph for the last 1500 tournament since May last year on stars is this
So brutal...can't see a single cash above about $100 in the past 5 months!
The euro sites are much lower variance and softer, and account for 90% of my volume now. But I'm still a loser on stars.fr lifetime, and it's only thanks to winamax.fr that mtts havent sent me totally broke!
I'm probably going to play some more live cash just to keep me sane. The £1/1 games at DTD are really good actually, £250 sitdown, lots of straddling, it plays like a big 1/2 anyway, so will frequent those games a bit more I think. Played last night and lost £400 lol

You have Stato and THigh in the house and even PJ (i say even cos of the previous backing relationship not because i have a clue on skill levels) to review your play. Even if you have to pay Andy in home made dinners it is worth it right? If you send me one I'll have a crack, or TL might. Surely some coaching is massively +ev even if you dont learn anything. Need to keep the faith man, confidence means a lot and readdressing any doubts you have should be done asap. You've always had a seemingly unshakeable confidence when we have played and spoke, I'm sure you'll get it back.

Such a lovely couple! Sean says I'm not allowed to book a double date, but the four of us are totally going out for steak when she gets her visa to visit!

Yeh I mean we all help each other loads and know each others games really well. Pretty sure we play pretty much the same tbh. I know there's nothing they're doing that's fundamentally different to me.
I watched all of Langley's video and it helped just to confirm that he wasn't doing anything different really to me, and we both thought about situations pretty much the same way.
I'm quite interested in paying someone like Marc Wright for some coaching though, think he could offer a lot as he is truely a beast at online mtts.

you obviously don't need "coaching" as such, but talking to people just can never be a bad thing. You have a house full of sickos, letting 1 or all of them look at a couple of HH's and going through it with them can't hurt. Or even me, I'd be more than happy to go over some hands/histories together, as you say we will probably play 95% of spots exactly the same but there will always be spots where we have a slight difference of opinion and can bounce ideas off one another.
Ive been on big downswings too and I know exactly how you feel but you gota continuously study and learn and try and improve even through the tough times (maybe moreso).

I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.

Sent, can't promise it but trying to be efficient do uni work but i waste enough time to fit it in. Might give you a different thought process completely to others too, perhaps incorrectly but hopefully interesting.
