It's not just me, it's a generation thing. Like you guys won't have heard of tellytubbies.

Erm, it's not really.  I know of films from before I was born, and I know of films aimed at kids and teenagers now - even if I haven't seen them.  Twilight for example.  Never seen it, but I know of it and what it's about.

Also, I have heard of Teletubbies.

You really aren't missing much if you have never heard of St Elmo's Fire or John Parr to be fair.  Now Pretty in Pink had a theme tune.

I didn't say I hadn't heard of it. I know what it's about. It's about a kid who's good at karate.

Valid point on the music front.  Psychedelic Furs were a good band.

What are the odds for Alex having heard of them before now?

If these are the sort of sacrifices you had to make growing up in order to be good with words and be able to play instruments, i'm glad I didn't make them.

Lost childhoods itt..although you both seem to better at poker than me, variance obv.

I can't believe Santa gave Stato a handful of candy canes last Xmas, if only he had known, I would have given him Karate Kid on VHS instead. You guys know what a VHS is right?

Can confirm Stato at 3 years old knew what a VHS was. He was the only one in the house that knew how to tape Countdown, WWF wrestling and the cricket highlights.......Thank God he moved on.

Never understood this "it's old, therefore I haven't heard of it" defence.

I'd say Karate Kid is as famous as the 15th/16th Century King, Henry VII, the singer Sammy Davis Jr and the American sprinter, Carl Lewis.

Not enormously famous, but well enough known.
