I said it in sean's diary before, but the Sheffield cash games are pretty decent, swings are not as big as yours have been recently, but it's a lot softer. A change is better than a rest and a suggestion would be to come play the tournament at Genting at Sheffield, then hit the cash tables when you bust (if you bust of course!), plus there is free food at the downstairs restaurant.

Aaron I've had a year of being beaten up by Nottingham regs. When I return to Sheffield I would like some peace and quite can you keep quiet! Thanks

Another good day today as I binked a package to Galway.

Pretty happy, was hoping to go but didnt seem financially sensible given the expenses involved. None of my regular lot are going so looking forward to socialising outside the clique Wink

Played a rollercoaster cash session after too. Lost £650 in the first 5 hands and thought "gg ill never get out of this hole in this game, early night". Mitch and Fred begged me to stay, I got a drink at the bar and chilled for 20 minutes. Fred and Mitch kept on at me to stay and play (obvious bumhunt is obvious), I gave in and ended up up £200! Got out of it last hand of the night winning a £1k pot off Fred with vs his 86 on , got there on the river...

Booking flights now, going straight from Ireland to Edinburgh for a few days of the Fringe, then back to notts for a week then to Italy for Florence/Tuscany with Victoria then Barcelona for Estrella/EPT! Can't wait for all of this!

I can recommend an a Capella group at the Fringe....

I have a couple of videos of them and will post eventually.

I can genuinely give a couple of recommendations for comedy shows if you are open to such things. Give me an idea of your tastes though, I'd hate to recommend a Lenny Bruce tribute to someone who has McIntyre tastes...

@david, you posted OOTB videos from the fringe on here before (lady gaga one) - awesome stuff. Rare to get video footage of them since they're vstrict in their gigs about filming.

Yes comedy recommendations please. Am there monday-wed 12-14th. McIntyre ftw!

Will post the vids as soon as I can persuade them to move from the phone to photobucket or youtube

Terry Alderton is a good call from TomFum33 as Miles Jupp would be if only he were there this year.

James Acaster is a must, and also a sketch troupe called Beasts. Both these are at the Pleasance Courtyard at 7pm and 4.45 respectively.
The Courtyard has much to offer with some well known names amongst the acts but the joy of The Fringe is seeing people who haven't made TV land and maybe never will.
Do your best to see Max & Ivan at the Pleasance Dome at 8.20. Two guys in multiple roles as they tell the tale of a school reunion.
Oh, and if you're up in time, Shakespeare for Breakfast at 10am in C on Chambers Street is fun.

A lot of the rest is a bit distant from the McIntyre style but the shows are generally only an hour and around £10 so what's to lose.

Haven't seen his Edinburgh show this year but Simon Evans is generally good value and of course if you like wordplay then you should probably have a look at Milton Jones.

If you are only seeing a few, then please don't miss James Acaster and Beast with Max & Ivan as your wildcard.

Go for it though - I get to see 20+ shows in three days, which means sometimes you have to walk straight from one into the next but it's worth it.

Great advice here. Some days I have kind of just camped in the Pleasance Courtyard and attended ' whatever is on next'. It's very random and eclectic but can be great fun especially if there is time for one pint before shows. The place can scramble your head the first few times though. There is just so much going on.

Good call!
He's there this year but sadly didn't start his run early enough for us. He was kind enough to tour and include the wasteland of Stockton on Tees last year and is very funny. He'll tour again though and some of the other stuff will never see the light of day outside of this month.
