Yeah to haggle you have to be aggressive. Say for example you found something you wanted that you would pay £0EP Ask the guy what price the item is. He will likely say '50EP'. Tell him no way! 1EP. He will laugh at you and go to say '£8.'
This slow moving bartering will go on for a few more minutes.
After a while he will be reluctant to budge. At this stage, say to the guy.. 'Right thanks anyway,' and walk off. He will shout you, come after you across the shop, stop you and go 'what is your lowest price you will pay' give him a price slightly under your actual price and unless its a ridiculously cheeky offer he will go slightly above it, and you got a decent deal.
I was taught this by a holiday rep and it works, meanwhile you will see tourists in said shop paying around 900% what they should be by accepting the first price,

+1 to the haggle. Brits seem to be the worst for it but it is part of their culture and it is a must to stop yourself getting completely ripped off.

You can even haggle in places like currys these days, no harm in asking.

Yeah you can haggle anywhere:
By law, no store has to accept your cash, even if you're paying the ticketed price.
Equally, you don't have to accept the ticketed price. What counts is the bargain struck, so why not ask them to lower the price?
Top 10 high street stores to haggle in:
Retail chain + Success rate
1. Homebase 73%
2. Currys/ PC World 71%
3. B&Q 70%
4= John Lewis 61%
4= Wickes 61%
6. TK Maxx 60%
7. Tesco 57%
8. Debenhams 54%
9. Sainsbury's 52%
10. Asda 51%

I can imagine haggling over a big ticket electrical item can work, but getting to the till in Tesco finding out your shopping costs £46.38 and offering them £30?
It could be fun to do it once for sport on a busy Saturday, mind.

A couple of times I've looked on line at prices elsewhere and shown the sales guy, and they have matched it after having a word with their boss.

4,274 people were polled - only retailers where at least 100 people attempted to haggle are included.
(1) Of those who tried. Figures are rounded

So if I try to haggle in Tesco 20 times and succeed once, is my success rate 100% or 5% Martin?

Don't forget I've travelled in Africa, South America, Central America and South East Asia extensively - I know how to haggle!
It'll be hard with Fred there who'll just snap accept the first price given and then give me dirty looks and call me a nit for trying to haggle.
Got the currency in the post today - pretty boss!

This is a strange one.
New diarist and "kid on the block" Fred Wise, luckboxed some sort of 800/1 shot RAFFLE, first prize being an all expenses paid, trip for two to Egypt!
Naturally I bullied him into picking me (yes, you'd think he'd take a girl but each to their own...) and so on monday we're off to Egypt for a week!
We're staying in the sickest hotel there, 5*, got it's own water park right near all the best nightlife in the heart of the Sharm el Sheikh region. Gonna be a sick holiday! Got a casino in the hotel but will try and avoid that, and also try and avoid playing chinese at all. Want it to be a holiday from all that. Gonna be all nights out, beaching, and sight seeing. Maybe give the Egpytian regs a spin on £25/£50 (Egyptian Pound that is...) one night though...
I've been once before when I was much younger on a family holiday, but obv don't remember much. Will be a sick trip for sure!
BEEN WITH MY MATES THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS FANTASTIC PLACE.ONLY 4-5 DECENT CLUBS THERE -BEST BY FAR IS SPACE , FOR 180 EGYPTIAN /£20 QUID YOU GET CLUB ENTRY TRANSPORT TO AND FROM YOUR HOTEL AND FREE BAR JUST ASK REP AT THE HOTEL ,LITTLE BUDHA IN CENTRE OF NAAMA BAY VERY DECENT ALSO - HAVE A GREAT TIME
