Sacrificing table space for roast space. Sacrificing potato space for extra yorkshire pudding space. GTO.

Get a bigger plate and have spuds and extra Yorkies.

And drinking the amazing beers they brew there, and tasting the famous chocolates, and of course, waffles...

Back to work now, been in Nottingham playing the WPT stuff. Not feeling on top of my game lately, maybe some delayed tilt from the 11th, 13th, 15th of recent times. Hiroller went badly, two bullets, but got the dough back in a cash game, mostly due to undeserved luck, and I made day2 of the $1m GTE WPT national with a decent stack, so lets hope that goes well. Had a v deece night out last night too, love it up here as always.

Vegas is getting closer...

In fact, it's time for a New Years Resolution, my first and only one so far as it happens. In 2016 I will make a profit playing Fantasy Football. Now that may not be very ambitious. But I come in with 0 experience at FPL and extreme informational asymmetry with my competitors.

Since the FPL season is over, it's time for a check up on my new years resolution.

Fantasy Football Results

Gameweek 20: +450
21: -900
22: +230
FA Cup 3rd round: +300
23: +40
Capital One Cup semi 2nd leg: +300
24: +1450
25: -1000
26: +1650
27: +50
28: -950
29: +900
30: -300
31:+800
32: +800
33:+1100
34: -675
35: -400
36: +105
37: +1235
38: -1300

£3885 total profit

Went big in the final week with double bets and it did not go well, but still nicely up overall and I enjoyed it all immensely.

Poker is going badly, I'm playing badly as well, need to get in the lab and sort out a few mental issues as well. Big 6 weeks ahead.

Proper beer this stuff is.  Only found one bar close to me that sells it.  One of the biggest drinking mistakes i ever made was drinking this pint for pint in the Dam with a group of lads drinking Amstel!

Great place Brugges for a weekend with the missus and a good drinking session at the same time!

Arb, if you're ever back in Leicester http://www.bruxelles-leicester.com stock 30+ Belgian beers including that one. It's a nice place to spend an hour or two.

http://www.merckx-bar.uk/

I got somewhere similar close to me which just opened last year named after the Belgian cyclist i believe.

Is the Leicester Bar on the main road out of town where HMV used to be years ago on the way out to Mosquito Coast nightclub?  Or in the back streets behind that road where Pilot clothes shop is? Hard to tell from the map. Appreciate some/all of these places might not exist anymore!  Haven't been to Leics for years.

I love Beers of Europe but being a home brewer I can't justify the prices. When the autumn is approaching and I've brewed all my summer American pale ales I'll be attempting a Belgian trippel to age for a couple of months for Christmas drinking. Happy to send a couple around the UK for feedback!

Pre Vegas update

My Granny is having a 90th birthday party on Saturday. It's a big deal. Hence why I'm flying out so late. Not happy about it to be honest. I don't think the family will ever get that poker is a real job where I can't just miss things like Vegas for birthday parties.

So I'm flying out Sunday (Was Monday but changed my flight this morning so I don't miss the England game monday!).

I'm gonna play tournaments all day every day and try and win fucking loads of money! Really excited about it and have been itching to go ever since the very first event nearly 4 weeks ago.

Recent times

Have been bad. I've managed to get in so many great spots, great games lately, but they've pretty much all gone terribly. Ive broken records for biggest losing session (by far), biggest losing month (by far), big losing pot (Flush draw vs full house YOLO - what an idiot), most sessions lost in a row to name just a few.

Obviously the stakes have been consistently high so the swings will be bigger (probs 10 sessions of 25/50/100 and been in games where 200,400 and even 800 straddles have appeared throughout the night. Really sucks raise folding with those blinds lol.

It's been a tough time but I did expect it because I haven't had a proper downswing at these stakes yet and been playing this high for a while. Always important to have your feet on the ground and not be delusional about win rates.

All of this has made me wanna get on the next flight to Vegas every day though and win it all back in one foul swoop! Looking for a quick fix is another pitfall though, and I've been guilty of that recently. Bring it on...
