Ancelotti under pressure after Wolves defeat
Reigning champions Chelsea have moved out to 10/1 with Sky Bet to retain their Premier League crown following a 1-0 defeat at Wolves.
An own goal from Jose Bosingwa in the first half was enough to give Mick McCarthy’s men a much-needed win to take them out of the relegation zone and continue Chelsea’s poor run of form.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men have drifted from 4/9 favourites earlier in the season to their current price, which is piling the pressure on the former AC Milan boss.
He is 2/1 to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job, whilst Sky Bet are offering a special market on Ancelotti, under-fire Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson (4/6 favourite to go next) and West Ham manager Avram Grant (3/1) to all lose their jobs before February.
Liverpool suffered a 3-1 defeat against Blackburn, whilst the Hammers were smashed 5-0 at Newcastle which has made the trio 9/4 to all leave their posts by the end of the transfer window.
Elsewhere, title contenders Arsenal (3/1 second favourites) and Manchester City (6/1) played out a goalless stalemate at the Emirates.
Sly Bet Football odds compiler Mike Triffitt said: “With so many managers under pressure it’s difficult to form a market.
“The top three on the list could all go and January is a good time for owners to get rid of managers and attempt to have a fresh start to save their clubs’ season.”
He added: “We’ve seen a lot of money for the trio to go before February and the way their teams are performing, you wouldn’t rule it out!”
