Has been quite incredible, haven't seen rain like it in the 10 years I've been here. Shame it had to happen this week. Still, my wee MacDowell bet's looking promising for tomorrow.

Just out of interest, how many of you do well betting on golf? I enjoy watching it in smallish doses (can't watch a whole days play), so my knowledge is pretty average, but I'd imagine you'd have to get a few fairly long shots to come off once in a blue moon for it to be profitable? Doesn't seem the sort of thing you can use a lot of information to make your decisions. Although I accept I could be completely and utterly wrong on that.
Is it more the sweat and the love of golf that makes you do it?

Golf is potentially the most profitable mainstream betting sport in my opinion. It is the only sport where you regularly see players available at 50/1 or 66/1 that should be true 20/1 shots. Also I would say info in golf especially pertaining to injuries is massively important. Weather also is a massive potential edge. Imagine betting on a threeball between Tiger, Westwood and a qualifier with the info that Tiger is injured!!!!

I bet it every week since the start of the year, and am in profit but reckon its probably only a break even proposition for me overall.. one result here or there obv makes a huge difference though.... I Just like the sunday sweats, although they haven't been going my way of late!! In truth there is an awful lot of informatjon available to formulate an opionion and generally speaking the market leaders are grossly under priced, so there is definate value to be had if you put in the time to finding it

Most profitable sport for me, consistently for a number of years. Especially laying 36/54 hole leaders.

I'm well in profit for the last few years. If i put in the effort to research the courses, course changes, weather, player histories i do much better but most of the time i just can't be arsed.

26 players within three shots of the lead for this final round shoot-out.
Could be some decent value lurking around in the -8 group seeing as this is a course which could easily yield a 61/62.

Agree - thought Molinari @ 66/1 ew with Skybet looked a bit too big.

Also quite like the look of Colsaerts @ 28/1 with Coral.

I've dabbled on Harrington and Rose, both @ 46 on BF.
Hoping for a small sweat on one of them.

Lara is overpriced, 1 off the lead and in great form.

I thought Goosen looked a fair price. Not the player he once was but was tenth last time the Open was here and got a pretty good Open record in general (been in top ten siz times in ten years) and played well at Castle Stuart without ever really being in contention. 50/1 e/w seems okay to me in a market where the top three are taking out 30%+.
