Spent a fair bit of time on this and think there are a few decent bets which I will post when I have managed to get on myself but there is a truly outstanding bet that I have pretty much zero chance of being able to get on so might as well post now.  Tom Lewis @ 11/10 with Unibet to be top amateur.  Honestly think this should be 4/6.  He has played lots of golf at this course and won the British Boys Open here in 2009.  I think 400-1 e/w is probably okay value for the title but obv the low variance play is for the silver medal and I would be fairly surprised if the Aussie and Yanks have played that much links golf.

obv very good well done spotting this

Would be a bit happier if he was on 3 or 4 under to be honest.  All of the focus is going to be on him now and that might prove to be too much but he does have the best of the draw again tomorrow and seems a fairly cool character so I am hopeful.  Like Kaymer a bit at the current prices though.

Wow what were the odds on Tom Watson to win with VC before the start of this?

Hoping for a good round from Palmer today. Delighted with Charl thusfar today..had a shocking few holes yesterday but back at -2 at the moment. If he can finish -4 he's right in it.

Charl Schwartzel is definitely playing some of the best golf on the course at the moment and 16/1 looks fair to me.  Still a strange betting market.  McIlroy and Donald still too short and those that have posted scores are too big given that the wind is getting up now.  Lucas Glover could quite easily be the leader at the end of today and 22/1 about him looks fair and I think the 10/1 about him being the leader at the end of 2nd round is decent.

Schwartzel into 12-1 now....just one more to birdie Charl and I'll forgive you for your terrible round yesterday

Jimenez , clarke , bjorn.

No bets on but would be happy with any of these 3.

Despite my bets I would love to see quite a few playing this week win.  Clarke, Bjorn, Watson, Westwood, Jiminez etc.  Think it is a tribute to the sport that there are so many likeable characters you can find yourself routing for.

Other day someone asks miguel if he is having a glass of rioja to celebrate his low score. He says he has one whatever he scores.

F me, young Mr Palmer is all over the place. I am just keeping track of the scores on oddschecker every now and again but he went from -2 to +1 to -1 again..

WD Charl today...don't quite see why Kaymer is favourite for the thing at the moment though.

Sigh, that will teach me to look at the overall winner and round 2 winner on 2 pages
