it was going in however it was played, but i suppose you are right i should continue the aggro on the flop to represent the bluff. he would have rr i would have flat called and it all would have gone all in on the turn. But still i was losing all of my chips regardless Sad

really frustrating night. I got unlucky in a good few tourns and if only i had run better for longer in some spots i could well be financially well off now Sad

Anyway that isn't my real concern now, even thought that was a $1000 losing night. My main greivance is that sharskcope has me up for about $12k for the year, but i couldn't honestly tell you where those profits are in reality. It is as iss they have made them up because i would say that i am $8000 short according to my bank account and poker site cashiers. I am going to leave the game for a week just to let all withdrawals get into my bank so i can have a real look at what my financial situation is and then apply a 200 buy ins rule because unfortunately i may not be rolled to be playing as high as i have been anymore. Even though i am a winner in the games.

I guess it is patience though and being able to wait my turn for the spot to crush, so i will have to do that. Plus i have about 5 assignments for uni all due in next month so i really have to get a move on in starting them and poker will only serve as a distraction, so i am going to give it up until all my work is completed. So much easier said than done but i really need to be disciplined to make sure that the three years invested at uni isn't a complete waste and that i hopefully get that 2:1 (it's history i take btw for any of you that care!). So that is that going to come back feeling refreshed after the long break and i will be roaring to crush again.

Two pairs of statements that both seem mutually exclusive?

I have had the problem of spending too much for a while now and thinking i havent then just thinking it has disappeared. I am most definately up $12k in 7 weeks which is awesome and i intend to carry that on to meet the 100K aim for the year.

To the comments above i am on for a 2:1 history degree and my poker is going great so i am in the least bit worried. I have noticed recently though that i need to stop playing pokes to do this work with 100% effort so i am taking the hit by giving the game up for a bit.

Only problem i have really is organising my finances and stop spending so much on complete crap and tighten my belt.

566   $26.08     $74     32%   $14,761

These are my results for the year so far. So the quest to be a serious MTT grinder is going well. I am hoping to level at $10k a month which is about £6.5k a month or £1.6k a week. WHERE THE FUCK IS MY MONEY THOUGH. I swear to the big man that i am getting grimmed with the prospect that my money is going into the thin air. Gonna have a little look at my funds tonight but i am bound to be really annoyed. Despite being up $2k tonight with a 4th place finsih in the betfair biggie at 20.00 the 40k 50r for $3.4k. I laid abaout $1600 tonight and cashed for about $3.7k so not bad at all

wp, get ur degree out the of the way imo, it is something you will allways have if things don't go to plan.

The main thing is you like to be playing, so even if you have to take smaller steps than what your used to, you still have the chance to build on it and keep playing, I for one, can honestly tell you that I have made this mistake countless times, it is not nice, and certianly not healthy, even if your the best player in the world, if you have lets say 10k, and you play 2-500$ comps, and you run like poo for months, even if you drop down to the 100's you still halve your chance of keeping in the game, if you were to lets say, play the 30/50/75's.

I'm not preaching, I'm just giving my opinion, on 1st hand experience, I wd much prefer u saying you sattelited into the bigger comps, and keeping in the game, than having it all one minuite and gone the next.

I really wish you all the best, just rememeber, there are so many gamblers would be quite happy for you to fail, and then go "I told you so".

cheers dreenie for the support. I counted how much my roll was at yesterday and it was $16k but i still decided to carry on playing with an avergae buy in of $120 where i really should have a roll of $24k to play.

I went ahead and played otnight after a solid day at uni and i won two tournaments, a 10k for 2.3k euros and a 5k gtd for 1.25k euros. and i came 7th in a 30k for 700 euros i got really unlucky not to be looking at the 8200 first place in this one but o well, also got a 3rd place in another 5k for 650 euros, final tabled a $16k and got 9th for $450 and i min cashed a lot of tourns to have me up a whoooping £3250/$5250 for the night and now has me over $20k in the br dept.

I am going to carry on what i am doing and hopefully this isn't a fluke. I am doing awesome this year in terms of final tables and tourns won. I just hope i have longevity in this and get to my goal of $100k for the year and if i do that that i can call myself a serious pro, something i haven't been able to say once yet.
