hi all. 3rd was good seeing as i returned 1/2 average day 2. ran good played good. mrs herbert is very willing to make a good contribution (from her 50% managers fee) to the blogg  fund as she really enjoys following the action as it happens. the event is def lacking when you guys  are not there.

N1 Jason, thank you, & well done yesterday.

I was very pleased also for Dylan Davies, who finished 12th, & young Rachael Costa (9th), who seems to me to be a very exciting prospect, & a really lovely girl. She made the Final of the Newcastle SPT as big Chip Leader, only to see her Aces busted by A-K. I've rarely met anyone who smiles so readily, she brightens up any Table.

spot on girl from a really nice poker playing family. would like to say i taught her everything she knows but i really havnt!!

It's clear that someone has coached her, or she just has good natural ability. For one so inexperienced, she has a great game, & what's more, she takes her bad beats well, & smiles so readily.

Any relation to Peter?

Based on looks, no!

Peter's surname (Costa), of course, is not actually Costa.

what a fun weekend and drive back down the M5 with some cash for a change. gotta feel for steve o keeefe who woke up with kings in bb 4 handed after i had iso 3 bet shoved from the sb A9. what a classy bloke he was when i rivered the str8.

i played a few hours with tikay at end of day 1 and enjoyed that as i always like his musings on here. it felt good to fold qq to 4 bet shove preflop and the fella shows AA and get a knowing wink from fellow "nit" tikay.

i nearly lost it 3 handed with jason cos i felt he was being personal with the banter and had already misplayed 2 big hands with him constantly jabbering on and name dropping half the UK poker glitterati every 30 seconds. thankfully he was coolered half hour in or he would of prob crushed me h/u who knows? he is such a nice guy over the rail but uber tilts me on the table lol.

poker fact of the weekend is that i played 23x 45 mins levels of poker and NEVER saw 1 misdeal/cock up.

very well done simon and team.

I really enjoyed the 3 or 4 hours we shared Tables, Alex, & well done on the result

I could never have folded those Queens against that guy - GREAT fold! Did you ever see a guy - he was a splendid chap, too - get so many big hands so often as he did? Still  great & cheap fold by you.

I'm delighted you cashed big, & hope we meet up on the Tables again soon. You are Welsh, right? Living where, exactly?

you deserved the win alex 100%. i do have a habit of tilting people coz you tend to find that guys often fold when you are mr nice when you want them to call so if you are a  bit annoying they call coz they have the hump with you. thats also the reason i wear the hoodies. the young lady  on the final was un lucky on her exit hand too. i think she never knew you had raised / shoved and her AJ was also ahead. bit ironic  i lost with Alister James having had that hand 9 times onf/t myself. wp again soon and am sure we will play another final soon

No, no, not at all, Rich. I only know about two "famous" film lines, & that was one of them, so I was just showing off, really.

In one of the "Lock Stock" films, a geezer asks someone "what do you know, tell me?"

He said, knowingly, quietly, & with a wink, "I know a LOTTTTT of things".

If someone could find the YouTube clip, it'd make sense. Maybe.

I think it actually is Costa Tony, but oddly Pete's oldest brother Louie's surname is Costi although Kim is still what I assume to be the original Constantinou.

I don't know of any other three brothers who all have different surnames.

Well I must defer to your infinite wisdom & geat age, Ralph, my apologies.

I really thought his "proper" name was "Constantinou", the same as Kim, who I've not seen for some years now. I liked Kim very much.

I'm not sure HOW 3 brothers all have different names, to be honest. Maybe it's a Greek thing.

A lot of greeks changed their names slightly when they came to the uk or to make them easier.

I know 3 brothers with different sirnames...haralambous, charalambous and hambi.
