Kind of a blatant brag thread but not really meant to be.
Will be buying a new watch in the coming months and want something that in theory will last me a good few years.
Been looking at the
http://www.tagheuer.com/the-collection/carrera/men/automatic-chronograph-tachymetre/index.lbl?w=CV2010.BA0786
Anyone got any recommendations or seen anything that looks nice recently. Pretty sure ffffeeeeeeelips and Gurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrprit like their watches.
Don't get an automatic unless you plan on wearing it almost every day, I have one that's been in it's box for the last three years as I can't be arsed re-setting it all the time.
Tag make really good quality watches that will last for years and while they aren't cheap they are pretty good value compared to some similarly priced brands.
It really depends on what your budget is though, I would recommend speaking to a sales consultant at Watches of Switzerland, even if you did end up actually going elsewhere to buy a watch, they are really very knowledgeble on the brands they stock. I've never actually bought a watch from them but have got so much good info just going in for a new battery.

I would say always get an automatic, one day you will wonder what you have done if you pay good money for a quartz, if keeping it would is an issue then buy a winder
Tag do not make really good watches, in fact Tag make very few watches at all, they are a design and marketing company

Stu, just been looking on the Tag website, and can't find the model I really like and was looking at in Vegas. Maybe it's an older model now (it was definitely a Carrera), but I much preferred it to any of the ones on their site currently (terrible site too).
