Mon now Nemesis, let's pretend we're not 12 for a while.
On second thoughts let's all have a sing song.
Tightend and Dingdell sitting in a tree........

what were your thoughts anyway James?
I think I played it badly pre and post flop, regardless of the result
and it is avowedly not a bad beat story. I hit my card, end of story

I dont raise pre flop, i check aswell. if i raise pre flop it has to be a decent raise and then i am stuffed by a re-raise.
On the flop i check, i want someone to take a stab at it, if i bet out and get raised i have a big headache.

are you checking to check call or check raise?
assume here UTG bets his made straight fearing flush draws
button raises his two pair
what are you doing then?
thanks

Well thats exactly it by checking we get more info.
If UTG bets and then button raises you are in a tough spot, you can pass and get away from a big pot, or you can re-raise all in, if that had happened you are HU with JT which ok is ot great but it isnt bad either.
If you check and there is only 1 bet then you can be pretty certain you are in good shape and can then play accordingly. (i would like a check call here, there are not many cards that will scare me, and i dont want to scare of a hand like KJ)
