Thanks guys for these impromptu "Mini-live Updates", big thanks to Flushy & Ginger, also Kiv, & at Walsall, snoops & Chili too. Also well done to Dani & his Walsall team, expecially Claire the Super-Valet, this monthly £300 Freeze at Walsall attracts a really tremendous field every time, take note other Casinos. And to those who Railbirded me from home, thanks as always.

I played my A Game from hand 1, & that result - 8th & £1,200 - was the best placing I could have got the way things panned out, so no complaints at all. When the Final began, Ali Mallu Raised it up the first 6 hands running, so when he went for the magic 7, on my BB, & I saw AK, it was a no-brainer, no point in trying to play it subtly, Ali is gonna call any bet, & will push in on any flop, so in went the chips. I flopped my A, he flopped his set, & that's all she wrote.

Been a good week for me, (on the Poker playing front anyway) - a Final at Notts netted £1,000, $5,700 clear profit online from 3 MTT's, & £1,200 today. Gotta be happy, these weeks don't come round too often, gotta enjoy them when they do.

OK, 2 days Forum stuff to catch up on, 6 weeks e-mails to wade through (been distracted by other matters, apologies for any unanswered e-mails), & I'm off to London in the morning for 425, & Southend on Wednesday. This retiement lark is a breeze.

Toodle pip.

Too right Flushy.

I Know It was in good shape, but I never saw the going of him. Probably another Ali Mallu victim, he was rampant. Lovely atmo there today.

Morning all.

Tom Rutter here...lil bro of Stu.

The most up-to-date info i have is from when we left, as Stu was busted in sixth by Ali Mallu, who had approx half of the remaining chips.
He looked very confident for obvious reasons and would take something special to beat him.

Thanks Numpty.

Stu played well - took a HUGE beat in the Semi against the red-haired Lady - he had AA or KK I think, she had 44 - & he played superbly to recover. I think young Mr Rutter needs watching, some game he has there. He was using the Re-Raise trick a lot earlier on, I was watching him carefully, (as I had been impressed with his game in Helsinki) & I said to a mate, I'm gonna catch this lad if he keeps Re-Raising. Next hand, he raises, Bliong Bling Re-Raises, Stu calls in a flash, he had the Aces. KNEW he was at it.

He took the trouble to approach me in Walsall & thank me for the larging up I'd done about him on 425. Very nice lad, if I may say so.

Ali Mallu? Well, he was just different class today. Fair play to the fella. I can't play flops against him, I just stick 'em in & hope he don't call. That was my plan if I got heads-up with him in the Final, but he retaliated first..........!

Hehe cheers Tikay told him u said that. He was gutted u spied his reraising tactic.

Thanks for taking the trouble to talk to stu..think he appreciated the confidence boost you brought when you introduced him to the table!

Unlucky in the tourney..well played to get so far. would have been very interesting if that AK had won..give u a proper chance to have a crack at Ali.

There are six of us who started learning together a year or so together hoping to give the poker scene a real crack over the next couple of years..hope stu's early success carries on so we can see u at a few more tourneys. Good luck until next time

The Updates were a bit Heath-Robinson, texts to Flushy, but the news filtered through.

Ali Mallu was just unplayavle, 6 straight hands from the start of the Final, & on the 7th, my BB, he did it again, & I got AK.. A no-brainer. I was shocked to see he had any hand at all to tell the truth, he had not shown, he'd not had to before.

Bit out of order to say this, but I was as pleased as punch with my game all this week, I've changed it a fair bit, & I guess I'm hitting cards too. No doubt the Poker Gods will give me a good slapping next week.
