Days 22 and 23 - Man this is gettin tough. Only managed 12 on Sunday (went to the pub) and 16 tonight. Thats one days work from 2, a poor effort. Packing it in tonight after just 16 as I'm pissed off about something so it's best not to play. It's nothing a nights sleep won't cure.

The new pc (with it's lovely big monitor) has been confirmed for arriving on Friday. I'll be able to breeze through 40 a day with that no problem. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself at the moment, we'll see how it works in practise.

Days 22 and 23 Results : +$349.5 (+$3614.3 total)
ROI : 13.7% (after 441 played)

I'm confident in my ability to play at least 6 tables when the new pc comes. I've already got some good notes on most of the regulars. That and 4 seems very easy for me now, even when they are all approaching the endgame at the same time.
If things go wrong, and it looks like I can't manage that many then I'll step back down. Reaching my target is important to me, but I'm not going to piss away the bankroll to get there.

All that being said, I still think I can make it.

I'll be busy on Wednesday but will be back early Friday morning to let you all know how Day 24 and 26 go.

Out of interest, Tank, how do you go about your note-taking for these?

Do you make notes directly at the time of play or do you use PT to review the sessions and import notes from there?

Are you detailing general information (general stats) or the play of specific hands?

I just make the notes at the time of play. I haven't yet got round to working out how to log the actual hand historys from the tournaments into pokertracker. The e-mails pokerstars send me only contain results, not the hands. I'm sure their is a way, I've just not figured out what it is yet.

For most players, I like to know how likely they are capable of folding to a re-raise pre-flop and with what tenacity they will defend their blinds.

On many guys I've just got one word, (caller or folder) this is better than nothing. One advantage to keeping it simple like this is that I avoid second guessing myself.

The hand histories should already be stored on your hard drive (assuming you've got the option set to do so) - check out the PokerStars program directory and there should be a Hand History folder within there with them in.

Failing that you can request hand histories by tournament - its another option alongside where you request the tournament summaries from.

Aye, I should really get the finger out on that one and sort it.

Cheers for reminding me Sheriff.

Just curious , have you tried staggering the start times , eg start one each time you reach the third level , that way you won't have 2 or 3 playing fast short handed ?

Welcome to blonde Keith, thanks for stopping by.  thumbs up

Aye, I've tried staggering start times before Aces.
I've found I prefer having them all in roughly the same place. That way, when I change gears in one, I am pretty much am changing gears in them all.
I find mistakes such as overplaying AK too early can creep into my game when I stagger.
If I am 3/4 handed in 4 at the same time, I seem to manage ok. In worst case scenarios Pokerstars give you plenty time to act should multiple "descion pots" come at me simulataneously.

Another reason I haven't favoured the stagger is I like to play a batch, then do something else, play another, go for a walk, play another, have something to eat etc. If I'm honest with myself, I suppose I have too many breaks.

2 or 3 short handed I can manage but 6 would be a different kettle of  fish. So thanks for the suggestion. On Fridy I'll try 8 tabling 2 batches of 4 staggered by 25 minutes and see how I get on. The play in the first 25 minutes of these things is very mechanical anyway. It'll be a different game now I've got a huge monitor and can play them all with no overlap, so hopefully, no mistakes.
Playing 16 (4 batches of 4) like this will only have me sitting for no more than 2 and a half hours without a break so I guess that's reasonable.

Playing less than 8 hours a day, I'd manage 48 tournaments like this. That'll definately get me back on track if it works for me.

Hi Tank,

Have u tried giving the $100 Turbo 6 handed tournies a spin, good for clocking up the VIP points but not quite as good return on ya money.

GL looking forward to your next post.

Days 24, 25, 26 and 27 - Have adjusted the ol' sleeping pattern over the last few days as I've had things to do during the day, some of them I needed to be awake for. The big drawback of sleeping at night is that I've been unable to play a lot of poker then. As ABC as these things are, it's difficult to play them in my sleep.

I spent a night up in Aberdeen so that's part of the reason why I've only managed 34 tournaments in total only over the 4 days.

Yesterday got me pissed off. Waited in all day for the computer to be delivered but it never arrived. Phoned them up this morning, apparently the driver reported that there was "no access to site". I think that's a delivery man euphamism for, couldn't be bothered so we knocked off early. They might have phoned me and said so. GRRRRR

Days 24,25,26 and 27 Results : -$318.5 (+$3295.8 total)
ROI : 11.6% (after 475 tournaments)

Doesn't take a Sklansky to work out that 4,000 in 4 months is 1,000 a month. Managed just less than half that with Month 1 approaching it's conclusion.

I really need this new monitor to increase my volume of play and reach my target. If for some reason it does not arrive on Monday (they have promised me it will) then I'll be a very bitter bunny indeed.

Cheers BigArmo, I might give them a look at some point. I'd have to have a wee look and think about how to play them first though.

I imagine beating the rake 6-handed would be much tougher. 2 good players in the same game would drastically reduce your EV more so than they would 9-handed. This kinda turns me off them.

Sorry Tank, I am just picking up on this non-delivery of the monitor bit of your post. Who are you buying it from?...

Dell were slow when delivering my old mans computer monitor. But when it did arrive a week late, he was given a free Virus check disk as an apology.

I would like to get a new monitor to add to my laptop. Switching around between lots of tables can sometimes get confusing.

Are you using a laptop or a computer?  If you are using a laptop, are you able to add another monitor to this?

good luck...hope it arrives soon
