I wasn't annoyed at you Sark, don't worry.

It's just a little pet peeve of mine how online poker and online poker professionals are sometimes portrayed in the popular media. Lads mags, Sunday supplements etc. They'd have people believe that we only make money from intoxicated Yanks. That we are somehow cashing in on a drinking culure. Combining two of societys greatest evils, gambling and drinking, what a scoop!

Some people play when drunk sure, others play when too tired. Some guys (and gals) fall short when it comes to discipline, playing erratically after a bad beat. On the most part though, players just can't be bothered to think about the game too hard and don't learn how to play it as best they could. Whatever peoples reasons for playing less than optimally, I'm sure there are many more, the end result is the same at whatever limit you play on.

Searching out the weak and incompetent is certainly more of a cash game thing anyway.

Day 63 - Sorry for the delay folks, I've been otherwise occupied today. First with some mad girlie attacking me, (Hell hath no fury.....) then with the blonde tournament and also I popped by with a wee donation to the afternoon game at Cincinnatis.

At the aforementioned afternoon game, I was guilty of bingo-ing it up somewhat. Cheers for making it 4 re-buys max Scottish Dave. Saved me a tenner. thumbs up

Next time I'm in Cincinnatis, I think it's time to dust off the big guns.

Eh yes, well, erm. I meant next Thursday.  Cheesy
After this mornings fun and games with mad bint, I needed to let off some steam. I'd rather do it in a £5 re-buy game than on the internet this evening. That's my excuse anyway.

Day 63 Results : +$465 (+$9,667 total)
ROI : 10.4% (after 1,383 tournaments)

With some re-buy madness out of my system, I fell sufficiently centered enough now to take on the tables this evening.

Doesn't look like I'll be bringing along any +1's to the blonde bash.

Now that I'm registered I'd just like to say how much I look forward to reading this thread.  Even if you don't hit the target it's a massive achievment. Cool

Day 64 - I'm writing this quite early. Usually I push through till much later on. Not so much into the wee small hours, but right past into the rather big ones too.

Not this evening though.
Having notched just the 45 on the clock, I feel it's time for Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz as it's been a long, not entirely incident free, day. (The mad woman earlier this morning, brrrrrrrrr)

A good nights rest and I'll be back to kick the bottom of at least 60 tournaments tomorrow.

Day 64 Results : +$517.5 (+$10,184.5 total)
ROI : 10.6% (after 1,428 tournaments)

We seem to have arrived at another milestone children. I shant mention what it is, because it's one that I only wish to reach once, if you know what I mean. (That and it's a little obvious)

No reason to tempt fate.

Not that I believe in such a thing of course. Fate is as inconcievable a concept to me as that abstract some people refer to as "luck".

Just a question - the point of the 4k games is to get the the WSOP for free isn't it?  Wont the $105 games have an impact on the points that you need to get for this making the number actually less or are you still going for 4000 games regardless?

Nice going again Tank, hope the mad woman stays out of the way for a bit so we can get some real progress happening again soon Cheesy

J8OFFSUIT, thanks for taking the time to read the thread. Welcome to the Party  thumbs up

Silo, in answer to your questions....

Just a question - the point of the 4k games is to get the the WSOP for free isn't it?

No, everyone seems to think that though.

I'll re-iterate that the main thing I'm getting out of this is the winnings from the tournaments.

The points are simply a way to motivate me to increase my volume of play, and in doing so, win more.

Wont the $105 games have an impact on the points that you need to get for this making the number actually less or are you still going for 4000 games regardless?

Yes, it will and yes I am.

The quest is still to play 4,000 though. I'm not allowed to change the rules halfway through. That would just be naughty.

Having played the $105s's for a bit, I have VPPs in hand. If I were to play 160 odd $3 tournaments, I'll still reach Supernova, and I'll still have played 4,000. This'll give me a little room to maneouver later on.

For instance, if there's 2 days to go, and I still have 250 tournaments to complete, I can play 160 $3 tournaments 20 at a time in around 7 hours. Playing 160 regular tournaments would take me 3 times as long. (As there's no way I'm 20 tabling at the $55 level)
