thx tank

And are they all turbos? I've up-to-date on the thread now, and am under the impression that you always play turbos. Is that correct? If so, then doesn't this take away your edge?

It's hard for me to keep up.

Yes, edge is taken away, playing regular STTs I would expect an ROI twice the size, however....

I can play twice as much turbos in a given amount of time and....

Optimal Turbo strategy lends itself to multi-tabling better. I will lose less edge playing 6 turbos at a time than I will playing 6 regulars.

So according to my calculations, hourly rate will be higher playing turbos. (and I'll get Supernova faster, and thereafter more FPPs to enter EPT events, travel the world etc. Always a brucey bonus)

So you have enough of an edge in the turbos to make it worthwhile?

5 minutes for turbos. 15 minutes for regulars.

I'm with tank here, I can't play a $20 or $30 STT standard table, because the 90 minutes or so is just too long for me. Best STT's on the net though imo.

Day 71 and 72 Results - Good News. I got my monitors sorted  Cheesy

Here's what I did......

Filled the 3 gallon jug exactly to the top, poured it carefully into the 5 gallon jug. Then I filled the 3 gallon jug in the same way as before and poured it into the 5 gallon jug till it was full. This left me with exactly 1 gallon in the 3 gallon jug. I emptied the 5 gallon jug, then it was easy. Just put the 1 gallon into the now empty 5 galloner before refilling the 3 galloner one last time and poured it in again. This left me with precisely 4 gallons in the 5 gallon jug. Voila... My monitors then worked perfectly. Computetrs are easy.

I also switched back to my old graphics card and used the software Sherrif Fatman told me about, though I don't see how this could have helped.

Day 71 and 72 Results :
-$150 (+$10,347 total)
ROI : 8.8% (after 1,808 tournaments played)

Not really a result, but I don't care. My monitors are working again so......

tank is a happy camper today.

Playing more than 6 tables at once has probably got something to do with the red pen result today if I'm perfectly honest.
None of this 8/10 tabling for me anymore then (for now at least) it's 6 all the way home  Cheesy

Playing for 8 hours I can get in 60 turbos playing 6 at a time. At roughly 10% ROI that's averaging $300-$400 a day

Whenever I start thinking like this I usually go on a nice long break even run. Don't forget you need about 10K of these to have an accurate idea of your ROI. Overconfidence and boredom can be a problem for me, not trying to imply it is for you.

Thanks Byron, you make a fair point.  If I play 60 tournaments I'm looking to win all 60 of them, important to bear in mind and thankyou for reminding me.

It's like the ridicolous fallacy of trying to make 1 big bet an hour in a limit cash game.
You're in it to win as much money as possible. If that works out as 1 big bet an hour or 10% ROI then so be it.

You're playing for all the money on the table every time though.

Day 73 - Although I turn the chat facility off, I occasionally turn it back on for the last couple of games in a sesh. When I've just one or two tables running, it won't distract me much.
Tilting people can sometimes work well, not really my style though.

What if they're swearing at you, is it ok then? Yeah, of course it is, anyone who talks trash at the table is fair game. If they dish it oot then they can expect some back.
At a much classier level of course. I'm not going to cheapen myself by telling anyone where to stick it or what to suck you understand.

After moving in with A3s and being called by Queens, Mr. QQ was not a happy bunny to have lost the hand to runner-runner flush. He started venting his frustrations at the websites software and a couple of choice phrases directed at poor old tank here. I believe my mother was brought into the equation somewhere aswell  Shocked

He still had chips so I thought, right, lets get ya.
Told him that there was no such thing as bad beats, only bad losers. That worked ok but I needed a little more. Whats better at upsetting people than talking complete bollox. Get them too busy debating to play their cards.  Cheesy

Mr QQ was told of how A3s vs. "wired Queens" was virtually a coin flip so he shouldn't be so upset.
..and similar such falsehoods.

Seemed to do the trick, he and his buddy seemed determined to prove how my loose agressive strategy was wrong and not proper poker. (The blinds were 300/600 by this point) How patience was the key and that a big fish such as myself was bound to lose eventually.
Talking such a loose game, no-one stole my blind for fear of being called. Isn't it great when that happens.
After all, you cannae bluff a muppet   Wink

Patience is indeed a virtue. Seemingly determined to not risk any possibility of getting their chips in with the worst of it, even with 600/1,200 blinds, they very patiently folded me 1st place. Thankyou very much  Cheesy

Was the last one of the slow session and put me in the black for the day so I was quite chuffed.

Day 73 Results : +$141 (+$10,488 total)
ROI : 8.6% (after 1,868 tournamentals)

A slow day is always better than a bad day.   Cool

Miley-stone to report to y'all
I've got my grubby paws on 50,311 VPPs so far, over halfway to Supernova.

Well done Tank.

Keep up the good work.  I sometimes try and watch some of you games in the morning if I'm up early for work, just to see how your doing but each time I watch you seem to get beat in the only hand you play, I don't think I'm a lucky mascot for you!

Nice going Tank.  You have inspired me to go for silver rating on Stars next month.  I'm in practice at the moment with $6 +50 turbos but will move on to the $15+1 hopefully by the end of the month.

As always

Days 74 and 75 : Time marches on and these last two days the totalizer hasn't much. Nor will it the next three.

BLONDE BASH BABY, IN IT TO WIN IT  Cool
A tournament with a rich history and a list of winners that reads like a who's who of poker.
Simon 'ACES' Trumper back in January 2006 and eh, that's about it.

I have enormous respect for ACES game. Tightend has him listed as 10/1 a seemingly ridiculous price in a 100+ runner tournament. It's not that far from the truth though, that dude can play.
I hope he's not on my table, at the last bash he was able to read me like a book. If I'm fortunate enough to make it to the final table, I feel there might be no avoiding him.

What I meant to say is that it's a tournament that will have a rich history and a list of winners that will read like a who's who in poker.
I'd love nothing more than to add my humble-bumble name to said list.

Trouble is 100+ players would love the same thing. Never mind all the jokes, the ribbing and the jossling. The fact of the matter is that the BlondeBash II double chance freezeout will have a lot of top quality oppostion in it. Whoever wins it has my undying respect. (I really hope it's self-respect  Cheesy )

Days 74 and 75 Results :
+$238.5 (+$10,771.5 total)
ROI : 8.8% (after 1,874 tournaments played)

My excuse for only playing 6 these last couple of days? Went out to Cincins on Wednesday around 10pm-ish, just to say hello.

The craic was cracking so I stayed till around 5am and had a few beers. Not exactly in a playing frame of mind when I got home if you know what I mean.  Wink

Thursday evening, I was busy too. El blondie asked me to deal as they were stuck and i thought I'd oblige as a favour. I felt I owe him one or two after dikking him about in bob-a-job week. Back from that and played just the six. Was a little too tired, that's why I killed the session prematurely.
