Yeah I went for a donkament.  The main square is pretty cool but I reckon you could do most things of interest in the city in 2 days.  It's pretty chilled there, can only get beer at hotels obv but lots of people trying to sell weed if that's your thing.  Nice weather too.

The thing that pissed me off was as its a muslim country it was hard to get a beer anywhere away from your hotel. Just the odd time a nice cold one after a bit of aimless exploring would have been perfect!

everyone just goes to the supermarket just outside the city gate for beer or pasha for a night out

after 3 days in the city you will desperately want to leave. the locals will have driven you mad, don't ever leave you alone trying to sell you the same old shit. you'll enjoy those 3 days though, just don't ever plan to stay any longer

if you've got longer then the atlas mountains are amazing. can you ride a motorbike? hire one and head into the mountains, it's an awesome way to spend a day

or head to the coast at essaouaria which is pretty close

even longer then head to the sahara and play on camels

other option is to fly into marrakech and out of fez to see a bit more of the country. fez is like a smaller marrakech, same stuff on sale but cheaper and less hassle from locals. don't bother with casablanca, nothing there except a giant mosque apparently (I've not been but never heard anything good from people who've been)

drink lots of mint tea, it's truly amazing stuff

A mate of mine used to live and work in Agadir on the coast, he loved the place and used to rave about it. I know nothing about it and can't give you any info though.......

Used to travel to Morocco a lot with work
Marrakech weekend imo
Plenty of international type hotels most out by airport
why not try smaller hotels " Riads" in city for a different experience
Jason mentions "es saadi hotel" one with casino attached rates here can be very competitive if no big events on
much rather stay here than out by airport
as mentioned already essaouaria on coast is worth a visit
you can get Coach there from next to train station

If you want to see atlas mountains and don't want to hire car (wouldn't recommend unless your Arabic or French is good as you will get stopped by police looking for small bribes to let you of with non existent offences) risking tk joining  thread take a train journey first class of course no need to pre book just buy at train station
could go to Casablanca or fez i like fez smaller cosmopolitan feel

how are you getting there Ryan fly out of luton cheap as chips if you book early with no hold lugage

long weekend or combine with coast imo

Thanks all for the info.

All saying a similar thing that it's best for a long weekend rather than a more extended stay.   Some good advice on what to do there too thumbs up

Never saw it mate. But it is uncanny imo. Not quite as bad as Frazer Bellamy and Ricky Gervais.
