Satelite Spot
«
on:

Satelite with 2 seats and 1/2 a buy in for 3rd place
11 Players left Average chip stack is 13500
Blinds 400/800/50 just about to go up tp 500/1000
Hero BB 23000
Villain SB 19000
Villain has been solid and only really shown down strong holdings winning most pots on flop or turn.
Action:- it folds round to the SB who open ships for 19000
My question is whats our range to call with?

JJ+
AQ+
Might widen it a bit if he's done it a few times but I can happily fold 10s and AJ here.

Never ever ever folding TT here, for me it'd be 66/77+, A8+, happily fold KQ. As mention it depends a lot on if this has happened previously. He has an M of ~6, so he should basically be shoving or folding here.

don't think I am folding vs a SB shove here

Haha well at least I'm not doing a maths degree....
So yer it's more like 12-12.5. OK this changes things slightly. Feel like opp has a far less balanced range for shoving here, tending towards 22-77 and A5-A9 seem likely IMO as well as KQ possibly. Probably want 77+ and A8+ still

Ok i posted this in reverse and i am actually the villain here so what is your shoving range?
Is ok to shove any
/
combos?
In relation to previous posts this is the first open shove that i have made so hopefully i wont get looked up too light.

Are these responses based on the fact there is only two seat with 11 left... or is this a standard satellite approach?

Calling range should be something like 88+, AT+, against described villain, maybe slightly tighter based on that fact this is for 24 bigs, hard to see this kind of person getting too crazy out of line.
SB I don't shove any hand for 24 big blinds so you shouldn't really be shoving anything imo.

With only two seats and still 11 players left, I think that shoving from the SB with a range slightly wider than you've posted for your calling range from the BB is absolutely fine. Also agree with with your calling range, dependent of course on how the SB is playing.

Not a standard satellite approach as in this particular tournament it will get very steep quickly, more the dynamics of this spot and how open our shove can be and what other regs would look to call with

So with our prescribed range are you then happy to raise to 2000 and fold to the bb overbet shove?

I will be raise/folding certain hands and raise/calling certain hands. It's going to be villain/situation dependant on how likely they are to flat us, how tight we've been playing, they've been playing etc.
