My insurance is up for renewal this month but my quotes are stupid (cost more than the cars worth!)

Ive changed my car to a cheaper car (clio) and its bringing it down less than half and is bearable.

My question is whats the best cheap runaround car (cheap insurance/petrol)? Ideally something under a grand as ill be driving less than 4k miles a year. I dont really care what it looks like

Have you considered not having a car at all?

Usually it's easy enough to get the bus or walk.

In an emergency you can just get a cab.

If you've got a trip planned you can hire a small car for £15 a day.

With all the costs of owning a car it's well worth considering.

peugeot 106 1.5 diesel or any 1.0 jap hatch, micra for example, but for 4K miles a year not sure fuel economy should be that important to you.

its not the fuel economy thats the biggest issue, its the price of the insurance.

thinking about it van is a great idea.  I watched a movie online the other day, it was pretty short but was really interesting.

It was about this guy that drove round in his van with a few friends they stopped to talk to a lady and she got in his van and they made love.

If you get a van that could be you!

How about something really old so that you can insure it as a classic?
