Anyway, more immediate matters. Golovkin tomorrow defending his title again, this time against Britain's Martin Murray.

Golovkin is very, very special.

He is, but Murray is his toughest test to date. Murray has never quite got the credit he has deserved and whilst I don't think he wins tonight I don't think he gets blasted out of there early. I think the 7/1 GGG on points is generous.

Even when I keenly follow him, and feel I have a good read on him, Golovkin keeps managing to exceed my expectations. I've gone with rounds 4-6 on this one although it'd be epic if Murray managed to pull this one off.

On the points note, Ladbrokes appear to of pulled their final decision markets.

Must admit, I haven't seen much of Murray. How good is his chin?

I'm surprised they lasted so long. I'm assuming they used a model to derive the prices from the MOV prices but it was flawed particularly when you had a short priced favourite to win outright. The UD price was almost always value.

We can assume his chin and heart are better than many of Golovkin's previous opponents. He's a big and stocky for a middleweight, plus he's never been down as a pro.

Murray looks quite the perfectionist in the ring, his actions always look deliberate. There's nothing wrong with efficiency but I'm concerned about the time he takes to think things over. GGG will constantly be stalking him and measuring him up. If there's anyone well suited towards picking him apart then it's Golovkin.

The traders were split over whether to bin it. After many losing months they eventually reached a majority decision.

Solid. Whether it's good enough to withstand GGG's bombs is another question though.

its a sad sight to see a big heavyweight act like a cowardly lion. Pricey is in severe danger of becoming the next Audley Harrison and nobody wants that to happen.

Yeah that was pretty awful. He looks mentally shot to bits.

This is a good fight.

Was just about to post that. I'm not a big fan of Smith but he is showing great heart tonight.

He's not THAT bad! Cheesy

Decent fight, but Abraham is just better.  Can't knock Smith's effort though.

Draw looks tempting. Corrupt sport, a boxer who is hard to hit and the chance of making a part 2 for the biggest money match in history.

Grin

Not sure what it is, his voice just goes right through me.

That Abraham was much stronger, but if his prep hasn't gone well, you can't have expected that good a performance, given the odds.

Kazakhstan's national anthem is nearly as bad as ours...
