Who would honestly want to play for the dour, boring excuse for a man?
When he becomes a manager, he'll be rubbish at it, I guarantee it.
Stick to giving us your crap opinions on the BBC Alan whilst collecting your massive cheque for doing so.

Have you ever listened to Shearer? 5 minutes of him talking and you're ready to top yourself.
I also can't see how he's possible a contender for the job and I also dislike the fact he could get the job based on his achievements as a player rather than as a manager. He relegated Newcastle and has never played at that level before, so what exactly does he know about Championship football? Still, will be fun to watch Cardiff crash and burn.

shearer didnt relegate newcastle, alex ferguson could of taken over with jose mourinho as his number 2 and they would of still been relegated within the same amount of games shearer had.they were relegated because they were a poor team who had concided themselves to relegation before it happened.
and to write him off as a manager based on his bbc pundit skills is also abit silly.
what really makes a good manager? there is no course you take in 'football managment'. shearer has been emersed in top flight football all his life, fair enough he didnt win any major honours after leaving blackburn. he has lived and breathed football from being a kid, he probably knows every coach in the league and would be insta-respected in the dressing room. shearer is a legend, newcastle legend, premier league legend and england legend.
watching him weekly at st james park you realise the amount of graft he would put into a game.his work ethic and leadership is second to none.i personally think he would make a good manager, he would get player respect and would know how to run a club, i also think the prospect of working for alan shearer would appear very appealing for alot of players
