People who pay for their £3.50 lunch with their card and when asked do they need cashback they reply no. You clearly fucking do. Stop wasting all of our time by using your card for everything.

Put the card in, put your number in, take your card.

as opposed to give cash, till operator puts the amount you've just given in the till, then take your change

It's different, but how is it 'worse'?

Also, people who buy something and try to be helpful by giving the pence bit in change so that the change they get back is a round number BUT spend ages searching for the right amount of change scrambling through their pockets or purses and then can't do the basic arithmetic to work out what change they should be handing over to the assistant.

It's sooooo much slower.

And whilst i'm on the topic:

People who get to a till and get told how much it'll be and look surprised at the fact that they're being asked for money, then faff around getting their wallet/purse out. You know what you're buying. How hard is it to have an appropriate amount of money at hand ffs.

Old people at the checkout who go through all the god damn vouchers 1 by 1 in their purse/wallet to the answer from the cashier that they are not valid in this store.

Cards have the additional problem that some places have a system set up which makes it slower to pay by card, and obviously people themselves can take an age using a card (although they're probably the exact same people who faff about for change when they're paying cash)

but basically you're not pissed off by people paying by card - you're pissed off by people being slow.

If you're going to be pissed off, make sure it's focussed on the right thing
