That cyclists think they can ride 2 or 3 deep on a road without paying any road tax.

It would be OK if they payed tax, is that really the issue?

If there is not enough room to overtake two cyclists side by side it's because there is oncoming traffic which means you have to squeeze between the bike and the car on the opposite side of the road.

This would be true even if it were a single bike.

It means you're (Not you personally) putting someones life at risk instead of slowing up for a few seconds.

I sent my niece a score for her birthday.

If I'd sent a twenty pound note it would almost certainly have been nicked en route.

Sending £20 by bank transfer isn't quite the same as having a nice piece of paper fluttering out of your birthday card imo.

I could send a voucher I guess, but the last time I did that my brother moaned at me because she had an x box not a wii or something.

So I'm left with sending a cheque.

Car and lorry drivers who squeeze past cyclists on the road. putting their lives in danger.

I would rather have the odd pedestrian get pissed off with me.

That's another matter altogether and I agree entirely that  drivers should be more considerate of cyclists.

That they aren't doesn't give cyclists the excuse to ride at full speed on pavements sending old people and young children scattered in their wake.

That's a completely different statement. I imagine the same thing applies to pedestrians who run at full speed on pavements sending old people and young children scattered in their wake.

People who are running have a much shorter stopping distance if something unexpected happens.

A collision between a runner and a walker is unlikely to cause great damage to either.

A cyclist however can do great damage.

The vast majority however don't do this.

If a person chooses to cycle he should be on the road.

If he deems it too dangerous to cycle, he should get off his bike and walk alongside it on the pavement.

It isn't hard. An adult should not be cycling on the pavement.

Mothers pushing prams and 90 year olds with failing eyesight might have a problem spotting these urban hooligans.

If they deem it too dangerous to walk on the pavement, they should stay in the house.

This is pretty much why I wouldn't cycle in London - but, there is the argument that there are a lot of wide pavements with very few pedestrians on around. If it's dangerous to cycle on the road but safe for both the cyclist and the pedestrian to cycle on the pavement then what harm does it cause?
