I'm thinking of buy one but a couple of my mates said once the novelty wears off they're just shit.
I however think they're really good and am seriously contemplating buying one.
Anyone got one? What are they like? Would you recommend?

I want one but the missus is dead against it. Got TVs all over the gaff as it is. Once gaming gets a bit more 3D orientated then its bang on.

Hopefully they'll be a bit better than the Nintendo 3D DS or w/e it's called which supposedly gave a lot of people a headache - though I can't see how watching 3D without the glasses wouldn't give you a headache. I watched the FA Cup final in 3D (was my first time) and was absolutely blown away by how good it looked. Only downside is the glasses, they're really annoying.

Any idea when they're being releases? Pretty sure there are a couple about in hotels/exhibitions already, one in Dubai i believe. Only really guessing but would be surprised if they were not on sale by the end of next year, obv gonna be crazy $$ at first though.

Nintendo relies on you having your eyes in the right place, others have technology that tracks your eyes and beams the correct images into each eye.

I have one. A Samsung 46" - Model UE46C7000WKXXU. The sport in 3D is immersive. The first few times you watch it you miss the action and just look at the depth - if you know what I mean. But once the novelty of the 3D wears off and you're watching the action again, it is very immersive. To be honest, I watch very little in 3D, including sport, but that's probably mainly due to the recent change in my domestic arrangements . Mind you, there is very little 3D content atm and that includes 3D blu-ray discs. Luckily, the 2D picture is spectacularly good too on my model.

It's better to be looking at it than looking for it.
