Well we don't have to believe in it to enjoy it. I think the production/directing of the programme is very good, and he is a good entertainer making the person subject to his ticks uncontrollably grin from ear to ear. Even if he did something truly "impossible" in front of my face I still wouldn't believe it as thats the whole point of an illusion, even though it seems impossible, there is a way to do it that we don't know about. We are just naive to think that just because we can't think of a way there is no way. It's amazing how many people out there think it's "MAGIC".

As DaveShoelace said earlier, it's unerringly close to David Blaine's Street Magic programme, including the multitude of Jesus references.
Blaine was one of the greatest prestidigitators (close-up magicians) the world has ever seen but the fact that people don't have an issue with Dynamo's show being so close to Blaine's is testament to just how good Dynamo is.
Like you say, we all know he isn't walking on water, he didn't make a hundred plastic butterflies come to life and he can't actually get an iPhone into a passer-by's oasis bottle, but that's not the point.
But I swear if he says "journey" again I'm going to start punching kittens!

Anyone who thinks Dynamo is an amazing magician needs to see more magic. His patter and presentation are terrible and he doesn't even seem to come up with his own tricks (or even put much of his own twist on old tricks).
On TV a couple of weeks ago he did the 'swallow a piece of string and pull it out of your stomach' trick which is as old as the hills and he did it in such a dry, dull way, that it made it obvious to even the most unobservant viewer how it was done. Even if you see an old trick that everyone knows how it's done it can still be great to watch if you dress it up well - watch David Copperfield's Chainsaw for a brilliant reinterpretation of a very old trick -

Yes Dynamo is an accomplished magician, but there are thousands of those in the world. This kind of 'street magic done by a borderline autistic' was new when David Blaine did it many years ago but it got tired and magic moved on (see how Derren Brown has transformed how magic is done these days - taking some very old techniques and dressing them up so well that many people don't even realise he's doing old-school magic)

It's also about what you do with it, though. I see David Copperfield and the Vegas extravaganzas as being all about the artist and none about the audience.
Penn and Teller would be the only obvious exception because of how their entire act is built around the audience's reaction.
Derren Brown is a Jack of all trades, but in a good way. He has explained how the various art forms are linked and how some of them are done (because he wants us to share).
Dynamo had magic as a refuge and it's been a positive influence on his life. He performs close up and brings joy with a combination of very old and more modern. He executes the tricks well and (whether it's the one in a hundred he got right) the TV show is engaging and impressive.
It isn't one for academics unless they are interested more in the audience than anything else.
Just how I see it anyway.

wow, when I first saw that I just assumed Criss Angel had licensed his tricks/show to Dynamo, but he seems to be calling him out on his own website.
