At some point I must catch up on the latest happenings.  Have lots to report, but always seem to run out of either time or energy each day.  Will sort that soon.

Also, Sarah must report on Cassie and Lily for us...hint, hint, nudge, nudge.  And *cough* pics wouldn't go astray as yer at it.   Kiss

Jeez Louise man!

Update:

Cassie and Lily are alive and they are doing good... Cassie more so than Lily. Ya happy? Smiley lol x

Ya cheeky pup!  Had a feeling things wouldn't be too great for poor Lily by now.  I'll speak to Dad about her this evening when I'm tracking down the Debs pics.

How goes it with school and other stuff?

You've reminded me I've pictures and reports to post, so may as well get to it.  Thanks for bumping the thread.  xx

The taller she grows, the shorter her conversations are?  Nah.  It runs in the family - you just bring out the 'mental' in us.

It's catch up time.  APAT Worlds at DTD was very good.  Always enjoy making the trip and feel right at home the minute I walk through the door.  Wasn't so great on the poker front, but only because I didn't cash.  In the 6 max I was just very unlucky in the end.  Had average stack and raised pre with KK.  Some guy shoved and it was for most of my stack to call.  Win this and I'm coasting to the FT because I felt I was playing well.  Called and he showed 99.  Obv a 9 hit on the flop.  Couldn't recover from that and went out 28th.  Ah well, bring on the Omaha.

My plan for the Omaha was to play a bit loose early, hoping to hit some flops and build a stack.  Also needed to be careful not to get too creative because people just weren't folding.  [ ] Plan went well.  Lasted a goodly while on just scraps but ran into a monster when I had a decent shoving hand and that was that.

Reckon I'm getting too old for the mad sessions and late nights, but can't help enjoying the time with such a lovely crowd.  You only live once and we get plenty of sleep when we're gone.  That's the brain's theory on it...just wish the body would cooperate.

Oh yeah!  Was chatting with Tikay and one of the Lads came over, tapped me on the shoulder and asked could he get 'our' picture.  It's ok Tony...some day you'll be famous too.   Kiss

After the DTD week-end it was a mad dash to get Jack ready for his Coast to Coast.  He spent the week printing and laminating maps, making lists and checking them twice and watching videos on the C2C in prep for the trip.  I watched the videos with him and was feeling a bit of regret that I wasn't going.  The scenery looked stunning and the woman presenting the show didn't seem to be struggling.  How hard could it be?

Turns out it's pretty damn hard.  Here's their diary   http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=54730.msg1417319#msg1417319

On Friday I took the same train as Jack, only I was cute about it and jumped ship near Ger's.  A week-end of long days and late nights is much easier to get over than what those Lads are facing.

Friday night was spent tilting all and sunder at the Aquarium.  We don't do it intentionally, but whenever Joobs and I get together we're wired for sound and a bit like marmite...you either love us or hate us.  We don't mean any harm.  Just like to laugh.  That said, we laughed so much I even gave myself a migraine from it!

Not sure she should be left alone with sweets though....

One hand caused total uproar between the pair of us.  I'd JJ and raised pre.  Folded round to Joobs who flats.

Flop is a bunch of random low...one of them being the 5.  She checks, I bet half pot, she calls.

Turn is another 5.  "Uhoh."  She checks.  "No way she's got a 5" says I and I bet half pot again.  She calls.

River is the fantabulous J!!!  Get innnnnnnnnnnn.  Even if she has the likes of A5, I've her crushed now.

She checks, I bet, she shoves and I snap call for most of my chips.  All the while the pair of us are giggling mad.  Until the cards are turned over and she shows not one, but TWO 5's making her QUADS!!!

Shouts of "IN YER EYE" could be heard as far as China.

Meanwhile, in Ireland Sinéad was heading off to her Debs.  She'd her dress picked out with ages and let me help with the shoes and bag from over here.  Spoke to her after and she had a fab time.  She's sent me a few pics via email and is sending the rest over (300!!) on a memory stick with Sarah.

On Saturday we went bowling.  Kind of.  Well, we did go bowling, but not entirely sure it could be classed as such after the scores were tallied.  We played three games and I was bottom of the pack in 2 out of the 3 games.  HOWEVER, I'd like it noted for the record that when we averaged the scores for all three matches, Joobs was bottom of the pack.  And if you added my scores with Joobs', we technically beat Ger - who was top of the pack.  Amazing what you can do with the scores when yer creative.

He spared us the strike this round....sigh

I've loads more pics from the bowling but they're mostly blurry so will save your eyes.

We'd been for a meal before the bowling and I'd managed to swerve us away from Nando's during the selection stages.  Then Joobs and I [ ] beat the Lads at the bowling.  Seriously, how good can one girl run?!  Next stop - the pub.  I really should have bought a lotto ticket that day.

I'd be surprised if Joobs ever said she was bored.  She finds entertainment in simple things like sweets and menus ffs...

Staff did give some looks our way on more than one occasion but they never asked her to take down the menu tower.  Luckily Ger showed up and brought order to proceedings.  With that, the children (wee man, Joobs and Adam) went off to play the casino machines around the place while Ger and I had a proper catch up.

Sunday Ger, Carl and I went to the local carvery.  Took a while, but I'm getting used to the carvery lifestyle in this country.  Can't say I blame ye.  Why spend hours at the cooker on your day off?  Especially when you can get a grand big meal for a reasonable enough price and plenty of locations to choose from.  No wonder I'm gaining weight!

Fed and watered, it was time to make my way home.  Jack gave me a printout with the platforms I was meant to head for at each station.  The first station was a no brainer as they only had a few platforms.  And one obscenely drunk man wobbling around the place.  He was making everyone uncomfortable while we waited for the delayed train and decided to sit (pass out) next to me in the end...marv.  I got up once I realised he was staying put.

Despite all the planning and printing, obviously the platform was changed at my next stop.  This was a larger station with lots of platforms AND A's and B's.  Good thing Jack trained me on the A's & B's of your train stations or I may have run into trouble.  I just don't do travelling well fer feck sake.  Luckily I copped the change with minutes to spare and managed to avoid a trip to Wales.  As travel dramas go, this was a HUGE result.

And back to reality.

I basically know every inch of this house now.  Usually when I know a place so well, I'm keen on keeping most of the lights off and will easily walk around in the dark.  When Jack's here, that's still the case.  But for some reason, I totally lost it those first two nights here on my own.  It was horrible.  I'd lights on all through the house just so I could settle down.  And sleep?  Nope.  Spent most of Monday night crying over a combination of things including pure exhaustion and cried myself to sleep in the end.  For a whopping three hours.  Sigh.

Whelley turned up Tuesday morning and was my saint.  He dragged me out for a wee 4 mile fitness walk that morning and the next two after.  He's well able for all this walking carry on and has already done the C2C so I was under pressure to keep up, but managed it in the end.  He's got something else planned for his day today and I'm under strict instructions to carry on with the training.  In two weeks time we're going here

http://www.bradgatepark.org/1/Welcome_to_Bradgate_Country_Park_and_Swithland_Wood/

Hope Jack's feet are better by then.

So with all the walking, I've calmed a bit and even manage a bit of sleep each night.  Feeling MILES better now!  Not sure what I'll get up to this week-end.  I think DIY is on the cards.  Plan is to tackle the clutter in the other spare bedroom so I can see what (if any) decorating needs to be done in there.  All going well, it'll be ready for visitors before I head off to meet Jack on Wednesday.  Because rumour has it, we're going to be busy in the next few months.
