the draw will take place prior to the main comp. then if two opponents are knocked out while the casino is open it can be played then. If not afterwards

Just a suggestion, why not make the draw a bit later, say during the dinner break after a final reminder/heavy hint?

A midnight start is still early on in the evening really, all things considered, and it would allow a few scratch teams to be put together once people have got to know each other a bit better. If £45 + 5 is too much, then £20 + 5 could be an option if the two team's agree. I doubt anyone will quibble the +5 for the worthy cause.

divaflava, this comp has been a logistical nightmare to set up. The idea of making the draw just before the comp is that everyone will be there at the time, people know who they are playing and can get the individual matches arranged between themselves, losing 5 hours would be suicidal. If peeps want to set up teams they ought to do it before then. I would think we could just fit in three more teams and have a knockout comp but even that is going to rely on everyone playing their respective games as soon as they can.

No problem with tone at all, thanks for the input. The hours that have gone into this whole event is rather excessive, TightEnd has lost 3 stone already.
