Kind of a limpy 50p/£1 live game. New player sits down to my immediate right who I have never seen him before. The first hand he limps and calls flop and turn on three clubs before rivering an ace out of an £80 stack. Seems fairly clueless as to where he is in the hand the whole way.

The very next hand he raises £5 utg, I flat with , two callers behind me. Flop is three diamonds. He cbets £11, I call, the other two fold. Turn is , he checks, I bet £28, he tank calls. the river is the three clubs. He checks to me. Should we bet here? At the time I was happy to check without reads, but now I think about it, I'm pretty sure I could value bet. Is that spewy or did I miss out on a chunk?

Yeah obv he aint ever raising so bet call is irrelevant but people who limp and match description in op etc dont start check raise bluffing rivers after calling 2 streets, so if he did raise he somehow has us beat

if he has some kind of heart draw he may jam river if we bet almost half of our turn bet and we also get some a high calls too which is nice

Felt out of line saying this myself. You're thinking about 4 too many levels ahead bitb. I'd imagine him to play any two overs like this as a cbet flop/call turn and hope to get there. Now that I look at this again, this is probably a pretty obvious value bet spot. Defo getting away with a £20-30 bet as well.

The way the action has played out Id say value bet 70/30 % in favour but there is a case to just call . Ofc if you do VB the river its a very easy lay down to a RR .
