So taking the AFC West as an example

Denver 8-8

San Diego 8-8

Oakland 8-8

This is the finished table but it doesnt mean they will draft in this order as the 3 teams had different schedules.

Denver will draft in the last 12 regardless as they made the post-season, and the play-off teams are ranked separately from the others IIRC.  After that, it's as Tighty described.

Yes that is correct

the 12 play off teams are ranked seperately

The four teams who exit this weekend in the wild cards are ranked and pick according to their regular season performance

http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Draft-Order.php gives you an idea, and is also a useful site for draft info

dunno about expert....

SF due to schedule not as good as they may seem... tough defense although willis at linebacker is having problems with his hamstring and his a big influence. Worry about their red zone offense seem to have a lot of trouble all season getting it done from 20 out..they should host the saints which maybe a daunting task although Saints are not the best travellers..however Brees is almost unplayable at the moment and NO may have too many weapons for SF to handle..if they get behind early they will never be able to keep pace with the NO TD machine.SF primarily a rushing team they would need to eat clock and keep it out of Brees hands...tbh if they get as far as gbay dont fancy them up in the cold of GB as a warm weather team...
Think GB at home have too much for them...

two strengths..they run the ball well and most especially a suberb defense. Wonderful drafting over three or four years on both OL and DL (Iupati, Staley, Willis, Aldon Smith, Bowman etc etc)

If any team is going to stop GB or NO putting up their usual 35+ points it will be SF, helped by being able to control the clock

Probably a year early to win the lot but going to be contenders for the next 5-6 years, this being their upswing in the draft/talent cycle

I give more credit to the team's front office, general manager, scouts etc

SF stunk for a long time. The upside of this was it gave them high draft pick after high draft pick

With one very obvious exception, Alex Smith the QB, they hit on a lot of really good players. This is a skill, as not every team does this

So, eventually, assuming reasonably sensible coaching, the NFL is cyclical for most teams (exceptions would be say Cleveland on the downside, and the likes of the Patriots on the upside where exceptional players and coaches mean they can buck the cycle for a long time). I mean look at Detriot. Stunk for ever but eventually the cycle turns when you draft Stafford, C Johnson, Suh etc etc

When Jim Harbaugh came in replacing Singletary he managed to turn Smith into a servicable QB (much more arm round the shoulder coaching style than the fierce Singletary), managing the game so they didn't lose (interceptions etc, which he did previously) and allowing the running game and defence to do the rest

can't generalise

Singletary was a superb positional coach

Put him in charge of a 55 man roster, and his style didn't suit everyone. Most notably his young Quarterback

Peyton Manning should be a great coach

versely  the likes of Sean Payton were not good players and are great coaches

Agreed... think what I was trying to say was that a lot of people have a blinkered belief a great player auto makes a great coach...however some of the greatest coaches never see a snap in their lives...

Highlight of the weekend........ Jerry Jones face as the Cowboys failed to make post season...

Who has been to a game over there?

What's it like?  Really want to do this soon.  Being a Raiders follower of sorts, my plan sometine is to go over for a game then hop across to Vegas.

Logical plan?

Typical of the Raiders to balls it up last week seeing as Kansas did the hard part.

Have been to the old Cowboys stadium and the old Meadowlands

I know Leknave/Flushy and others have been to Qualcomm/San Diego, Flushy's done Miami etc etc

Superb experience for me, tailgating, the game itself. A never to be fulfilled ambition is to do all 32....

Raiders would be a good one, lively crowd, fiercely partisan, great weather

Logical plan is to go across in the season, and do the Colisseum pre or post Vegas.

Middle left or right looks good!

Oakland is close to San Francisco so it's feasible if you were planning on flying, rather than driving there.  Otherwise, it's a fairly long drive from there to Vegas (doable in a day, but probably 8+ hours).

A better option in a car might be to aim for the Raiders at Chargers fixture and then travel up from San Diego.  There's plenty of poker in LA too if you want to break up that journey.
