Times tennis correspondent Neil Harman on Twitter: "What Serena is saying to this umpire is completely unacceptable. We should be seeing the referee (he's probably under a table somewhere). Williams holds but then disgraces herself with a on-camera tirade at the umpire. "Don't even look at me," shouts Serena. When play finally resumes, Williams wins the first point, points at the umpire and screams an expletive and is hit with a code violation for verbal abuse. This is getting rather tasty, isn't it? She manages to break back and this match is very much alive.

Stosur is quickest out of the blocks once more, signalling her intent with a couple of monster forehands for 15-30 and then bringing up two break points at 15-30. Serena saves the first with an ace but on the second she screams "COME ON!" before Stosur has even had the chance to return it. The umpire awards the point to Sam. Serena is LIVID! A full-on confrontation ensues but umps holds firm.

Annabel looks great now - has a really lived in look as if she has smoked 40 smokes a day and spent too long in the sun but still gets the pins out.   I reckon she'd be cracking.

Yeah. Defo spoilt child syndrome coming out. Was total bollocks from Williams. If I was the umpire I would have put here down by saying she is embarrassing the whole nation by being a twat ten years after so many heros gave their lives. I hate the personalities who get to big for their boots and think they are the whole world revolves around them

To be fair though, Serena is so big and heavy that there is a chance the world does indeed revolve around her.
