Here's a prev thread with all my details: http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=54675.0

Basically skipped vegas this summer and am seriously hungry for some serious live poker/vegas action-this would be my wsop for this year.

This was the first wsop i've missed since first went in 2006 and this year is the first wsope main event i'm missing too.

I play online for a living but seriously need a break from the online timebank. I feel i'm at a cross roads in my poker career and would like to stay fresh and try something new.

Most of the similar buy in comps in the uk have relatively small pools and bar near where i live it's a huge hassle for expenses etc and not always worth traveling.

Obv vegas wld be somewhat this too, but to help with variance i'm planning on staying for 3 weeks+ between October 28th-Nov 18th.

Hotels can be pretty cheap out there and i have loadsa miles to use up, so it won't cost all that for me.

Here's the schedule and details:

http://www.venetian.com/uploadedFiles/The_Venetian/Content_Blocks/Gaming/Deepstack_Extravaganza/DeepStackIV11.pdf

I believe the value will be huge in these tournaments and tbh have never seen worse on average live players- i chopped a venetian deepstack last year.

I'm big value in these comps, as long as i cut out the fancy play syndrome and abc it the fish won't know what's hit them-well unless it's a donut.

Recently my game has come on alot as i'm starting to change gears better and look at texture more in flop terms rather than the nice table cloth.

Basically i believe post flop i'm getting much better and more paitient, again bar the odd 3 barrel spazz-but we gotta have the cohona's right?

The pools should be juicy ($100k pools for fun last year) http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/festival.php?a=r&n=7887and with 17 $340 events which are all re entry jobbers, i cannot see how some decent volume can hurt that dreaded variance.

As they are all 2 dayers+ and therefore overlap it's highly unlikely i'll play them all-and obv i should prob take a day off once a week-but i love poker and doubt 18 comps cld burn me out.

Another reason i'd like to play so many is due to the player of the series prizes.

Firstly i think it's pretty scandalous but 1/2% will be witheld from each tournament for this seperate pool, so it makes sense to exploit those that don't and play the world.

What i would plan on doing is having 1 potential re entry bullet in each $350 event-any non bullets obv refunded with markup. Any bonus binks from the player of series wld obv be returned also as per yr percentage.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My schedule is the following: (Schedule buy in totals=$12,180)

*Added in using 28/10 non re-entry $403 return as buy in.

** Paid for from returnable balance@ 1.15, not from original schedule buy in total.

*** Paid for from returnable balance@ 1.15, not from original schedule buy in total.

**** Paid for from returnable balance@ 1.15, not from original schedule buy in total.

Each non re-entry or non played $350 comp adds $403/$806 to returns balance, and $644 for $560 events.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

28/10=$340+$10 (No re entry) (Schedule total=$11,480) Returns balance=$403.

29/10 $340+10 (No re-entry)* (Schedule total=$11,480) Returns balance=$15,396.
(First place for $15,396)

1/11=$340+$10 (")-(Did not play) (Schedule total=$10,780) Returns balance=$16,202.

2/11=$340+$10 (No re-entry)  (Schedule total=$10,080) Returns balance=$16,605.

3/11=$340+$10 (No re-entry) (Schedule total=$9,380) Returns Balance=$17,008

4/11=$550+$10 -(Not playing) (Schedule total=$8,820) Returns Balance=$17,652

5/11=Caesars $1100 comp ** (Schedule total=$8,820) Returns Balance=$16,387

5/11=$340+$10 (Late regged) (Schedule total=$8,120)
Returns Balance=$16,790

6/11=$340+$10 (" ") (Schedule total=$7,420) Returns Balance=$17,615

(20th place=$825 cash, re-entry taken)

7/11=$340+$10 (No re-entry) (Schedule total=$6,720) Returns Balance=$18,018

8/11=$340+$10 (No re-entry) (Schedule total=$6,020) Returns Balance=$20,258

(11th place=$1837)

9/11=$340+$10 (Did not play) - (Schedule total=$5,320) Returns Balance=$21,064

10/11=$340+$10 (1 re-entry) (Schedule total=$4,620) Returns Balance=$21,064

11/11=$550+$10 (Did not play)
(Schedule total=$4,060) Returns Balance=$21,708

12/11=$340+$10 (1 re-entry)(Schedule total=$3,360) Returns Balance=$21,708

13/11=$1070+$10***(Schedule total=$3,360) Returns Balance=$20,466

14/11=$340+$10 (1 re-entry) (Schedule total=$2,660) Returns Balance=$20,466

15/11=$340+$10 (1 re-entry) (Schedule total=$1,960) Returns Balance=$20,466

16/11=$340+$10
(No re-entry) (Schedule total=$1,260) Returns Balance=$20,869

17/11=$340+$10 (No re-entry)  (Schedule total=$560) Returns Balance=$22,400
(16th=$1128)

18/11=$550+$10
(Did not play)   (Schedule total=$0) Returns Balance=$23,044

20/11 $2510  (Schedule total=$0) Returns Balance=$20,178 ****

---------------------------------------------------------
Schedule total available=$0 as of 20/11/2011

Returns balance=$20,178 as of 20/11/2011

---------------------------------------------------------

So that's 15X2(includes possible re-entry) $350 comps and 3 $560 ones.

Total package is now worth $12,180@a mark up of 1.15=$14k

It's big value imo as you get a potential bonus and i believe i'd still be value in this @1.2/1.3 easily, i'd just like to prove myself in staking threads first.

Percentages=the following:

1%=$140

5%=$700

10%=$1400

Oh and com tournie reports 2b added-tho maybe not 18 full ones!

Thanks for reading kind peeps,

Dom

I get ya, altho i normally just play and play and play while out there.

Wld def promise that if i felt anywhere near burnt out i'd take a tournie or 2 out of the schedule, maybe one or two of the mid week ones that won't get the weekend numbers/nor same value.

Cheers for pos comment tho mate. Gl on yr thread btw, keep meaning to play more on party, looks such value.

To be honest I'm not overly keen on these packages when it comes to staking.

I understand they iron out the variance but personally I like to embrace the variance and go for a big bink.

If there's a comp with a huge field where I can potentially 50x my investment or more likely do the lot I'd much rather go for that.

If you split any of this I may have a little punt.

Like yr gambly attitude about the big bink matt, that used to be my attitude too, i was king of the shots.

Found out the hard way though that unless i ran like yang or played like keys i'd soon be broke.

Unlikely to split any of this if i get enough interest as i think the player of the year prize pool wld make it too complicated but maybe i'm just being simple.

Also cheers for feedback mate.

In Vegas 30 October to 13 November. Going to play a few of the 3 pm sides at DSE (PLO/PLO8, HORSE, EO). Would be interested in 2% if you decide to go ahead, can do Stars or bank trfr nearer start of events.

Afternoon Dom.

In for a penny & all that, yes please.

I'd like to have first refusal on 10%.

Like you, for now, this is more an expression of interest, but I'm definitely a buyer if you do it.

Let me know once you have secured the pass from the GF, & I'll either ship the cash by Bank TX, or pay you in cash out there. If we bump into each other in the interim (EPT this weekend, or wherever) I'll give you cash in hand.

So, please set aside 10%.

The way I see it, it is almost impossible that you will spend the whole $17,330 (every day Two probably means one less Tourney, & every "non re-entry" saves $340).

TR's? Yes please, I like to see how I do my dough......

Good luck.

I think this is an excellent package, & with the action spread over 20 or so Tourneys, we'll be unlucky not to get a draw or two.

I said the same thing to James Keys when I took a very small % of him in last year's London Festival Autumn Package, which was about £25k. (I think I had a paltry 1%). By various means, the loose change I was due back as my dividend turned in to a 2.5% interest in his Aussie Millions malarky.....

10% first refusal is yours sir, and expression of interest rather than any bookings also understood.

Nice to have some indications of numbers coming in, anything near the 50% mark potentially having interest in will give me the courage to bring this up with my better half.

Won't want cash/transfers till much nearer the time if this does go ahead, i'll just buy dollars in bulk near the off if it's a sure thing.

As always your support is greatly appreciated tikay.

Can I check on the repayment calc method pls?

i.e. if you blank the lot but then bink $25k in the last tourny, how is that paid out?

Assuming I like the answer, an indicative 2.5% pls.

Does the pos pay out 40 , 30 , 20 , 10%,  found a link to a previous DSE but not this one ?

Are you standing the bonus chips ? Shaves the mark up a bit  Cheesy

Will likely take a % or 2 but would need to be Stars x-fer.

Interest noted ty buddy.

Ok so i fire every bullet and after 22 blanks bink $25k in the last and 23rd comp?

Bit confused tbh- obviously you would have 2.5% of $25k which would be $625 returned+2.5% of any player of series prize.

Unless you are talking about potential timescale for me to pay the $625+ back? Well dollars would be possible if you so wished within a week if you are based near london, stars transfer could be done in same timescale for such a small sum.

In terms of bank transfer i'd expect to repay you within a week-i'd be def leaving vegas immediately following the last comp and once dollars exchanged/paid into bank could transfer instantly.

I've always been paid out in cash out there so am assuming similar for $25k. If it was $100k then obv we might have to get a cheque if possible-and then i'm assuming it could be a couple of weeks.

But i could always split this for investors preference.

Just thought you are probably concerned about potentially losing out on exchange rates etc. Well in that case dollars person to person wld be best-can always hand these over to a mutual friend etc..

Otherwise i'd have to pay back whatever i received for the dollars when they are exchanged into pounds.

Hope all that helps, was a little confused if you were referring to how much you'd receive or when, but maybe it was due to exchange rates? Wednesday afternoon/early evenings aren't my fave time! Smiley

Oh dear forgot about those pesky bonus chips, ummm understand if ppl don't still potentially want whatever they said they were interested in now.

Will prob have to change op to reflect those bonus chips as we are talking about possibly $400=2% extra on top, maybe i shld just stand it but i dunno, meh knew i forgot something.

Really not sure about payout structure-i'll take a look.

Thanks for pointing that out mate. Will update OP later as off 2 pub 4 footy now, oh and if small percentages i'm sure stars will be fine.

Any large percentages would have to be done via bank i'd think as i am consistently having problems cashing out from stars.
