Self-deal at the new;y opened G Stockton last night.

Idiot dealer* deals the flop before one player has called the preflop raise

It is suggested that we burn and deal turn, burn and deal river then shuffle and redeal flop

TD/Cardroom Manager/Supervisor is called and rules the player who hadn't acted's hand dead

We're told this is standard in G Cardrooms?

That's open to all sorts of angle-shooting in a self-dealt game.

What was suggested seems appropriate to me.

My thoughts exactly - indeed I threatened to raise every hand tha was folded to me and then deal the flop instantly

What was suggested seems appropriate to me.

and to me - but, and I've done further searching since my original post

4.    Prior to completion of the betting a card exposed in error by the dealer will be shuffled back into the remaining live deck.
If 2 or 3 cards of the flop have been dealt then the flop will stand. Any player who has missed their turn to act will have automatically checked or any player who has not called a bet/raise will have a dead hand.

This is why the dealer bangs the table before dealing community cards.
To allow players who've been missed to pipe up.

Self-dealt games make it very difficult for the card-room supervisor to make rulings due to the wide variety of dealing skills.

I think they also have that rule where if three people check behind you before you have acted your hand is dead.

This is what's called "significant action," I used to see it all the time as a dealer, but would just ignore the players checking out of turn unless the situation was about to get dire, then I would call everyone an idiot and still not kill the hand. It's such an easy method of angle-shooting and colluding.

As for dealing the flop before action has finished, the first thing to do is facepalm, then apologise profusely. If you're dealing in the G then I guess you have to follow their ridiculous set of "rules." Scoop up all the community cards dealt thus far, and reshuffle. Dealing natural turn and natural river is terrible, despite that being the rule at Dusk. With turn and river dealt already, you know three cards that the turn or river cannot be, thus giving 6.5% edge to players drawing to those cards.

Banging the table is a good way of getting everyone's attention, and dealing a spread flop so that any player with something to say has the time it takes you to put three cards face down on the felt to do so. If they haven't piped up by then, then you can start to shift the blame anyway. Wink

last night in a pub game i was running the big blind announced raise and before he put chips in pot dealer started dealing flop, the ruling i gave was the burn card stood but other cards were shuffled back into deck and the blind was allowed to raise and others could respond seems the only fair ruling imho

Why would burn card stand?
