I stated at the very beginning of the thread ACE that I wasn't a pro.

I here tit-bits, I use my own judgement.  I don't post all my bets on here.  Some I do some I don't.

If people follow what I post then that is a risk they take.

There have been some horses that I have posted but not backed myself.  But on the other hand I haven't tried to lay them on betfair.

We thought you were the one  Cry

only kidding - ppl should know that tips are just opinions.

Totally crazy to have a go at this guy, other than the fact he tipped several winners no one had any reason to think he was any more shrewd than Scottish Dave or Glasgow Bandit, he ran incredibly well for a while and it was great but there´s no justfication for having a go at him now.

Raman is an all-weather specialist it seems with a few contacts and appears to be a fair judge.

I missed his flying start but have enjoyed a nice profit since having small bets on many of his selections.

He seems alright to me and as he says, he never claimed to be a pro.

Dont think Ace was having a go more trying to find out a bit about Raman, I suppose as he came on and gave some big priced winners early people will think he is a god and then you have a few losers and your not.
Definately Buyer beware imo and i never knew Scottish Dave or Glasgow Bandit are they still around?

Unfortunately Bandit is no longer about. the guy was a pure legend. Any horse he fancied..and I mean ANY horse... you could lay off. Your 100k challenge would be done in a week of laying Bandit's horses Wink I loved Bandit, all round good guy and loved a bet but his picks were legendary for all the wrong reasons.

I meant no ill towards Raman, he's made me a few quid.  In a crap way i just wanted to say he's posting a lot of horses and people should know where he's coming from when making a judgement on wether they want to back them or not. I hope i haven't offended him greatly and he continues to post.

Bandit can sometimes be a bit...erm vocal in his support of certain things and that lead to a ban (or two, or three)..that's the only thing I know really.

No offence taken by me at all.  I tried to quantify things earlier in the thread when I was giving hero status by a few that variance would even things out.

I can continue to post some of my selections based on my criteria which should hopefully see us return a decent profit when we get a winner or a place, or I could regularly select a horse at < 3/1 each day which unless we run like God will see us running at a loss.

Another point of interest that should be noted, and I have previously alluded to it and only Simon Galloway asked further about it is I have a deal in place, sort of like an affilliate with a bookmaker who gives me a % of losing bets back so for me it makes sense to continue backing these bigger priced horses.

Back to the horses.

I have already had a few bets this morning, one of which has appeared to be a bit of a springer.  12:20 Southwell I backed Bonnie Prince Blue @ 25/1 its now around 12/1.  I also like St Oswald in the same race, it could go well if handling the switch to fibresand.  I could potentially be on both as a free roll.  Undecided.

I have just had a positive for Bonnie Prince Blue myself although I can't see where it was ever 25/1?

Opinions on the merits of fallers insurance?

e.g. paddy power are 9/4 about my earlier tip, 2/1 with fallers insurance (money back if it falls).

I don't know much about it, but at first glance of your post that seems reasonable to me.
