Big pot.

darren Hickman raises on button, called in BB by Barry Grimes.

Flop

Barry check raises darren's flop bet to which darren comes back with an allin of a further 65K.

Barry tanks for a bit and makes the eventual call with J5. Top pair.

Darren turns over KK

Hazel Blake has become a member of the Blonde team, mainly so she can sit behind the rope with me as she can't see over the heads of the guys on the rail.

Tim still grinding his 40K stack.

Side event starting now. Capped at 100, alternates already on standby.

I've seen this happen twice in the Vic and both times the four cards, (which had been clearly tabled and were agreed by all), where left out, the rest of the deck shuffled and the hand dealt out.

I cannot for the life of me see why they would make any other ruling. I also cannot understand how we are about to start year 6 of the tour and they can't have consistent rulings among casinos that are owned by the same company (in the same chain). The other ruling from day 1a where the guy says he's calling if you go all-in and then he folds when the guy goes all-in is not a call according to the Vic, but several people on here said that it was declared a call earlier in the year on the tour.

I'm a massive Jeff Leigh fan, but wasn't the point of having him travel round, I thought part of the remit was to ensure consistency.

I personally have attended very few GUKPTs this year because I felt they just weren't listening to me when I offered constructive criticism, or they were listening but nothing ever got done.

Black Belt have put £200,000 in entries into the tour in past years but this year the number was under £30,000. We have given our business to the UKIPT.

Also the ruling yesterday where player A raises, B 3 bets. Player A asks for a count and whilst B is counting his stack the dealer deals the flop. As player A is unable to stop the dealer before the 1st 2 cards of the flop are dealt, his hand is ruled dead

This is a worse ruling than the JJ QQ hand IMO.

There has been a desperate need for a consistent set of rules and there implementation for years, and yet many of us keep on accepting these crap rulings. I think Neil's non playing stand is good, but what we possibly need is a players union, who can help bring some consistency to the industry. It really shouldn't be this hard?

Karl makes a great point - they have cameras.

Of course we all know that while cameras are constantly trained on you throughout if you venture over to play BlackJack or roulette in poker they'll often come back and tell you it was slightly blurred which really means we don't have cameras on this table because they are terribly expensive and it's only poker and not our money.

We are close to selling out Nottingham Live Jason (glad you asked). Don't want to overly spam the thread (just a small spammage), but yes, we are about to release 25 more seats for each day, we may get another 25 if we can sell them quickly. We are selling 20 a day at the moment so they could go on Monday quite easily.

George opens, Marc Foggin raises just over minimum. Andy peters in the SB min raises again. Called by George and Marc.

Flop

5 2 10 rainbow.

George bets out, Marc passes, Andy tanks and declares all in.

George folds without too much thought.

Lot of play going on on this table, George seems to be making most of them.

Absolutely horrible ruling. If that is the rule then obviously everyone should get their chips back as the hand is declared dead. If the hand is deemed to have too much action and live then the last remaining player should be awarded the pot, in this case split. But if the TD had any common sense then they would realise how fucking easy it would be to cheat (goes without saying that Jack wasn't) if you were mates with the dealer and got it in with horrible equity not to mention pissing off the whole table when the best player there doesn't lose chunks of their stack. The best ruling by far is to do a QQ v JJ run out, how they do it is just semantics.

The camera thing is interesting, nearly every stars venue doesn't have any but there was an incident somewhere this year (can't remember where poss Tallinn) where they referred to them over something.

The turning point for me in making my decision not to support the tour as I have very loyally in the past was the terrible dealing at this exact leg.

I have been a regular visitor to Blackpool in past years but I wasn't going to be treated the way they treated me there last year. I remember one dealer was just awful but the worse thing was the surly and arrogant attitude.

In the PLO tournament I think there were 5-prizes but of course we had to play hand-4-hand at 10 players because we were about to make the final. It was 1am and no points were available for coming 9th, 8th etc. I constantly asked why this was and they seemed to relish telling me it was Grosvenor policy and there was nothing they could do. There was something I could do though and that is why I am not there.

I didn't play the Vic leg in March as I wasn't allowed to call up and buy-in as a late alternate on the phone and then turn up a couple of hours later (after the Cheltenham races had finished). I would have to go from my house to the Vic to buy in and then come back and miss a race. They couldn't be flexible - Grosvenor policy. My policy was I won't play then.
